What would happen if David took Vitali's offer of a fight in April and managed to beat him and then fought Wlad and unified the division. Ok, you may not think that it is likely but indulge me.

What would happen if Haye then retired in October 2011 as he has promised that he would giving up all the belts, leaving them for the dregs of the division to fight over.

If either of the Klits were to fight on and win the titles again they would be seriously comprimised champions.

For the last few years I have thought that Haye, forgetting about last nights debarcle, was going to be the think that put Heavyweight boxing back on the map. Indeed he has and will contniue to do so but, my senario above could be devistating for the divison.

i would wake myself up from that nightmare!

well, in all seriousness, IF Haye was able to beat both Klitschkos, I think it would make news in the states...
and any boxing news that makes the news here is definitely a big positive.
plus i'm for a unified heavyweight champ period

Wouod be amazing to have a real champ.

He would defend once and retire.

The problem is that is not what the HW division needs. We need a unified champion who is here to stay and to defend his crown. Not some one-time fluke who unifies and then runs off into retirement at his prime.

I agree it would be great.

But if he abdicated the belts and retired would he have done more harm than good???

Interestingly the klits would probably be the most suitable challengers for the vacated crown. Klit vs Klit would be good

They would be the most suitable challengers but if they did win them back what credibility would they or the division have?

Klit vs Klit would be awesome, but pie in the sky i fear...

Aside form the unlikelihood of the scenario, it's no different then the guy that Lennox Lewis defeated picking up the belt after Lewis retired. In fact. it's less damaging. With Lewis there was a long lineage. With the belt holders now, there is not that HIStory.

Not much, but it would definitely justify my klitschko trolling a lot more.
