It is all mental. If he can convince himself that he had the fight won but something made him weak, he will be able to fight on.. Hearns was knocked out badly by Hagler and Barkley years after being knocked out by Leonard, and he still beat Hill easily enough. And Hill was a great fighter who was undefeated and 10 title defenses. If Margarito came back fully himself it would be surprising a little, but not unheard of.
This is the problem with guys with great chins. They will stand there and take this punishment, shortening their lives and careers just because they can. Even though Margo was that beat up, he's still able to do his thing despite the damage he took. It's this kind of long, sustained, and damaging fight that can hurt fighters longterm. I also think Garcia's partly to blame too. He should have stopped it, he's the trainer for christsake. He's not supposed to play the pride game, he has Margo's health to consider. Garcia should know better than anyone Margo's chances after the punishment he took. It's to be expected I guess when Garcia hardly rehydrated his fighter between rounds and sometimes forgetting to even remove his mouth guard.

Bazooka, seriously bro? Come on......? It was not even close, I know you have love and respect for Margarito, and the dude went down fighting he could have opted to quit, or have his corner stop the fight, as he was clearly taking alot of Head and face Trauma, and no one would have said anything, he went out like a warrior, but Pac ****ed him up, plain and simple, no other way about it.......I would concede your points but it was not even close it was a one-sided ass whipping, I don't even think Margarito's face is going to look exactly the way it was before..... Pac ****ed him up, bad..........Leavander Johnson did not get KO'ed or TKO'ed by Jesus Chavez in 2005, and it was a similar like type of fight and he died as a result of his injuries. It is far worse to take a constant pummeling then to get TKO'ed, quickly and regain consciousness.
No...he didn't stagger him....just stopped him in his tracks a few times and broke his orbital bone and has him pissing blood the next morning!!!
he felt Pac's punches i dont care what nobody says...you dont get hit 401 times in the face and come out the fight looking like rumplestilskin and say nah i aint feel it.....if he didnt feel it its probaly cus his face went numb after punch 300!
