Did manny actually do what i think he did?

Did he say that? I thought Manny coasted because he knew he was ahead, not because of any compassion he had. I mean come on, when he pole-axed Hatton, he walked right past the fallen Brit and began celebrating. That's not showing much compassion...why would he show some to Margarito, a guy who made fun of his coach and accused him of taking steroids?

He also went to visit Margarito in the locker room before he was carried out on a stretcher into an ambulance.

They were in a clinch and Pacquiao put his head up to Margarito's ear. You can hear him talking to Margarito and then they resumed fighting a couple seconds later. Knowing Pac, I doubt he was trash talking....it had to have been something like what you've heard. Manny's class.

It was in the 10th round (if I remember correctly), Manny bizarrely clinched up close to Margarito for a good few seconds. You could easily tell he was talking to him.

Apparently he told Margarito he wasn't going to continue hurting him in the final rounds, and that he'll carry him until the end. This was according to Buboy.

 

I remember him celebrating initially and then going to check on Ricky, but he was sorta waved off so Ricky could be attended to. He doesn't set out to hurt people anymore than he has to most the time.

 

Wow...I can't wait to see the HBO replay to verify that. I was in a noisy bar, but I did think I heard Lampley say something about "Pacquiao the congressman" being in there during the last two rounds.

 

I think he realised, after looking to the ref 2 or 3 times, that the ref wasn't going to stop the fight so he decided to ease up on Margarito.

 

Well it was pretty obvious Manny took his foot of the peddles, you only have to look at the ammount of times he was looking at the Ref to stop it... he would of stopped it if he wanted to.

i actually saw that too! during the last seconds of the 11th he clinched margo, kinda whispered in his ear before the ref separated them. You can even hear a glimpse of pac's voice before the ref came in.

 

Showed more compassion for Hatton than his trainer did!
