It's in both fighters' best interests--if each fighter is confident that he can win--to work together and settle on a 50/50 split. If they split 50/50 the fight will happen, and they'll each probably make 35-40 million dollars. The person that demands 60/40 is basically saying that he does not want to fight the other person, probably for various reasons: scared, risk to legacy is too great if he loses, ego. Because each fighter knows that the other will not accept anything other than 50/50.
The funny thing is, if this was anybody but Floyd, and they had the same PPV numbers and level of fame, people would not be so quick to demand a 50/50 split, or 60/40 in Pac's favor. However, I agree, I hope they just do 50/50 and get into the ring.
50/50 split I don't think so!!! People are going pay for that fight to see if Mayweather loses not if Pac can win. Mayweather is the bigger draw like it or not just look at the past 2 fights compare to Pac last 2 fights on PPV. I really don't care about the splits I just want them to fight already!!!
Waste of a thread. I'll wait for Floyd expressing some interest before getting excited for a fight that may not even happen.
50/50? Hasn't anyone heard of the Wilt Chamberlain effect? If someone is responsible for making $50 appear where normally there would $35, that person deserves a high percentage of the $15 increase. Floyd absolutely has the higher generating power. It should be 55/45 Floyd, but Floyd's camp has always been fine with a 50/50, so this is not the problem.
Um, why should he fight Floyd for anything other than a 50/50 split? Floyd has no titles that Pac wants, he's just a draw in PPV terms - thats it.
Floyd most definitely doesn't have the better drawing power, in reality or in deserving it. I believe a higher percentage going to the winner and the lower percentage going to the loser is a great idea. It would get the fighters actually fighting to win instead of coasting... No more million dollar sparring matches. And 15 rounds, too- this would help boxing immensely.
