Any chance that when a topic about an Irish boxer comes up people could discuss boxing instead of nationality, politics, religion, ethnicity etc etc etc??

good interview. Why did Lee and Duddy duck him??

was good to hear him not slag off Barker. Pretty clear now its a legit problem. Heard he may have to retire.

I think that Lee and Duddy should have taken it.

It will be unsatisfying if the three retire not having fought each other.

I think that Lee and Duddy knocked it back because they didnt want to be tied into a two fight contract and thought they could make more money sorting it out themselves, which is fair enough.

But as Macklin says, people want to see a round-robin with them. Its a bit like Hatton-Witter over here.

is two fights with 100k paydays that bad? A win over Duddy doesn't push Lees career that much further forward. A win over Macklin gets him a world title fight.

Its bad if you think you can earn twice that and still be the master of your own destiny.

You underestimate what a win over Duddy would do and a overestimate what a win over Macklin would do - especially in terms of US boxing public.

Come on mate. The US boxing fans opinion of Duddy is not high at all anymore. Your over estimating it in my opinion. Duddy has no world ranking and is no longer respected as a serious contender.

Lee needs to base himself in Ireland not in the US. A win over Duddy and Macklin, In Ireland on RTI with 10million watching would make him a superstar. Then he can bang out the 02 and have the TV cash to attract a big name.

They won't get more than 100,000 euro each for the fight in America. Lee beats Duddy by decision and goes back to fighting 8 rounders at fair grounds off TV.

How many people do you think live in Ireland.

Outside of hardcore boxing fans, not many people, even in the Irish cities know who Macklin is, let alone Lee.

Duddy is the draw and the cash cow over there.

Why's he fighting another nobody? I thought he said he performs to the level of oppoents. Surely it would make sense to get a decent opponent if that's the case.

Sounds like he's doing what I do when I order a curry, copying the accent.
