On HBO's telecast Kellerman and Lampley both made the comment (around the 11th or 12th round) that Pacquiao was perhaps starting to "slow down" indicating he was perhaps starting to decline, suggesting that NOW is a good time for Mayweather to fight him. Kellermen in particular suggested the current version of Pacquiao is not as good as about a year ago when he fought Cotto.

Does anyone agree?? Cos I sure as hell don't. I think Manny looked better than ever against Margarito. Maybe it was the fact he was just against a walking punching bag with no defense, but I thought his speed, power, footwork and most importantly his blistering combinations were as good as it has ever been.

To me Manny is still at the peak of his powers, and I think as long as he stays around the WW limit, is showing no signs of "slowing down".

Its a pathetic attempt of hbo to lure floyd in to the fight.
I thought manny looked faster against de la hoya then he did this fight, but he was smarter and showed ring generalship

Yes I do believe he is slowing down (which is why we need the Mayweather Pacquiao bout before both are in serious decline)...I believe he peaked in the Hatton and Cotto bouts. His speed is great, but has slowed slightly since the De La Hoya/Hatton bouts. His power has improved in my opinion, he is carrying the weight better...and that showed against Margarito.

I honestly, honestly do not see any slowing down in Pac. I heard Kellerman and Lampley say that too, and I've watched the fight three times now, and I just don't see it. I think he looks every bit as fast, explosive and conditioned as ever. Would be interested to hear why people think he is slowing down.

to my eyes Hatton was as good as he's ever looked. that might be due to the nature of that fight and Ricky's pitiful performance/game plan. That fight made me think that 140 is the perfect weight for Pac and I still kind of wish he would have stayed there.

Pac has been on a decline since the Cotto fight, not very noticeable because he was still able to overwhelm his opponent. But I noticed many times Pac slows down in the later rounds an even had to let his opponent pin him in the ropes just so he can take a breather.

The Pac in the Barrera/Morales fights was able to take his power all the way to the 12th round to finish his opponent. The Pac in the Cotto/Clottey/Margo couldn't.

It is no secret that in the past, it was Roach who needs to hold back Pacquiao from training whereas since the past few fights, Roach has to push Pac to focus more on training.

Just because Pac keeps on winning does not mean he has maintained his focus.

Definitely, they got the right mix of speed and power at 140lbs. He looked sooo quick and very powerful for the weight...every punch he threw looked as if it really hurt. If he stayed at 140lbs, he probably would have cleaned up the division by now.

Since his move up after the Hatton bout...to me, he has lost a little in speed (although still quicker than almost all, if not all WW's).

Exactly, I've heard people saying on this forum that Pacquiao didn't want to hurt Margarito, etc in the final rounds...and yeah, to some extent that may be true. But he was feeling the pace.

Well he did say his hands hurt a lot maybe thats why he "slowed down" in the last two rounds. Personally I didnt see anything to show that he is starting to decline.

He is slowing down, bit by bit. Not only his speed but also stamina. Though that could be attributed to a not so great training camp.

Yeah I agree with that point regarding the speed. But his legs were fine IMO. When he will fight Mayweather he will be in top condition and will surely follow Ariza training (unlike this fight). Pac is a beast!!
