SRL, Hearns, and Duran, I'm talking Duran that beats Leonard, are all THE best WW's other than SRR. Get it right kiddies it isn't no nostalgic thing. Pacman looks good and gives a good fight, but remember. SRL, Hearns, and Duran are NOT Margarito, Cotto, Clottey, Judah, Spinks, Baldomir. With all due respect, the latter are a worthy bunch in their own right, but they get murdered by the best of all time. I don't think this era's WW's are even in the same class as the last era's WW's(Delahoya, Trinidad, Mosley, and Quartey) much less the 80's era.

I disagree. If Hearns had landed that shot Mosley did in round 2, good night Mayweather. I think Pac would last longer. No getting up for Floyd, dead on the canvas. Both are probably early nights.

This is the thing, Pac is the greatest of all time in terms of his achievement, but not in head to head match ups. He can't beat Roy Jones prime or Ali prime or Tyson prime or Hagler prime, BUT nobody else starting at 106 could supposedly have accomplished what he has accomplished. Hearns losing to another welter in leonard, and the dominant middleweight champion of his time, and Iran Barkley in the fashion that he does, excludes him from "the greatest of all time" because he has a chin deficit at the most elite, goat level. Pac's consistency and the quality and nature of the challenges he has taken certainly make him the greatest achiever since Roy went up to heavy and made it look easy (if roy had stopped we would be saying he beats the klitschkos and was the greatest every head to head at every weight against anyone).

The pryor hearns fight is not prime for prime, it is just an example of the closest style to pac in terms of height and unorthodox work rate and how it did against Hearns. That is all. And yes, ams are very different than pros, ask that guy who beat Tyson twice in the ams and lasted like half a round in the pros.

somehow, some people would still not get it and will continue to pit pac against bigger opponents just to say that pac is not great and will lose to these bigger guys.

Come on puga, admit you think Pacquiao is the greatest of all times. And i don't know why you mentioning the example of Can Duran beat Hopkins at mw? lol. Duran didn't dominated any very good fighters at mw. Not even a good very name fighter. This stuff about Pacquiao being the greatest by most Pacquiao fans is cause the way Pacquiao destroyed De la hoya, Cotto, Margarito. <<<<That's why i post threads like this to make my point loud and clear that Pacquiao is not even close to the greatest. He's not even in Leonards level.

Hearns for me at WW was one of if not the greatest. Pac would be overwealmed and destroyed in 4 rounds.

you still don't get it. pac is great not because he is a head-to-head monster in fantasy match-ups like these. he is great because of his accomplishments. no one has guessed that pac can dominate these welters back when he was at 130. no one has said he can dominate the best of mexico has to offer at featherweight back when he was a flyweight.

I think Hearns would try and box with Pac at first but if Pac started to go to war with him Hearns would turn it up and take his head off. Hearns is just too much for Pac at 147 period.

Peope trip out on Manny's power at WW for being a small guy that should really be at 135. Leonard, Hearns, and Duran had the same thing where their power could be felt all the way to middleweight all the way to light heavyweight. I have mad respect for the Pacman, but Margarito is not one fourth the fighter Leonard, Hearns, or Duran were.

I'm not saying Pacquiao isn't a great fighter cause he is. He is the number 1 p4p. And he is very exciting to watch. But lets behonest He only went up to ww to only face fighters that he, Roach knows they are either weaken badly ( De la hoya) or not the same (Cotto, Margarito). I got a great question Would Manny move up to ww to fight a prime De la hoya that still fought at ww? hmmmm.
