Do you think he hits harder than Tito now at welterweight? Or that he'd land 300-ish shots like Tito did at least to be on par to at least give us some doubt that Pea couldn't handle his shots? Have you seen the Whitaker-Trinidad fight even Addie? I know you've said in the past you haven't seen that much of Whitaker.

What makes you think he wont? I mean if guys like Margarito are finding him with 200+ shots, why wouldn't Whitaker hit him at will?

I wonder if now would be the time to start a Pac vs Kalule thread in general.

I gave my basic analysis in the other thread, Addie. Second page.

I haven't seen that fight, SS.

    Was Trinidad landing clean shots?

Were the other 3 Whitaker-Pacquaio threads posted this week not enough?

In one of those topics I posted "Whitaker would probably clown Pacquiao". So that.

Not always, but he did land plenty of flush shots, some of which made Whitaker wobble and/or hold on for dear life.

I wasn't aware there were any threads until after I posted this one.

 Oh, it may have been a subconscious thing because now you mention it, I do remember coming across that.

I just don't see Whitaker wiggling his way out of Pacquiao's combination's on a consistent basis. He throws to many punches at one time, and they are coming at all sorts of different angles and at high speed. Does Whitaker possess the power to make Pacquiao wary of throwing?

I had Whitaker/Trinidad even after 7 rounds (4 to 3 for Pete plus the knockdown for Tito, although Whitaker's own knockdown of Trinidad wasn't counted). However, that last 5 rounds Whitaker took a beating, one he only managed to survive out of sheer toughness and strength of will. That fight, above all, shows how difficult Whitaker was to stop. If he can take a beating from a big, primed Welterweight like Tito despite the condition he was in at the time, I find it hard to believe he's ever being stopped by anyone around his prime. I'm more than willing to believe he'd be able to take anything Pacquiao could land.

    Makes sense, Bujia.

I'm tempted to go and watch the fight in its entirety.

If you're not a fan of Whitaker it shouldn't be a problem. I myself have only seen the fight once or twice, though. It's difficult viewing past a certain point.

Nope. But he possesses the speed and smarts to beat Manny to the punch with counters. He has the body punching to slow Manny down, and he had the speed to avoid a prime DLH's combinations, consistently. I'm not saying Manny wouldn't land. His workrate, southpaw style, fast feet and hands guarantee he would. I'm saying Pea would beat him over 12.
