1. Marco Antonio Barrera 1 2. Miguel Cotto 3. Erik Morales 2 4. Oscar De La Hoya 5. Juan Manuel Marquez 2 6. Antonio Margarito 7. Ricky Hatton 8. Joshua Clottey 9. Lehlohonolo Ledwaba 10. Chatchai Sasakul 11. Marco Antonio Barrera 2 12. Erik Morales 3 13. David Diaz 14. Jorge Solis 15. Oscar Larios Yay or Nay???
If Cotto and Oscar are his 2nd and 4th best wins, it kind of makes a mockery of all this "top 10 all time" stuff doesn't it? I'd rate Barrera 1 and Marquez 2. Anything after that are pretty equal
1.Barrera 1 2.Marquez 2 3.Margarito 4.Cotto 5.Morales 2 6.Hatton 7.Sasakul 8.Clottey 9.Oscar 10.Ledwaba 11.Barrera 2 12.D Diaz 13.Larios 14.Solis 15.Morales 3
I just mean, take Ezzard Charles who was 12 all time, on ESPN's last list His top 5 wins would probably read: 1: Joe Louis (peak) 2: Joe Walcott (peak) 3: Archie Moore (peak) 4: Joe Maxim (peak) 5: Elmer Ray (peak) You can argue the top 3 would be in the top 20 best of all time? That's why I never buy people trying to fit Floyd and Manny in any top 20. Top 20, you need to have faced at least 3-4 of the top 50 fighters of all time
Hmmm, good point. But I don't think Jofre is a banker for top 20 One or two lists maybe. Not every list
Louis wasnt in his peak when he lost to Charles what the hell are you talking about. And his wins over Bivins,Burley or Marshall are better than his win over Ray.
I agree. I aint trying to be cruel. Floyd's isn't either You just look at everyone in the top 15. They've all faced at least 3-4 of the top 50 fighters of all time. Some of them, have faced 5-6
Reasons i have Morales 2 at 3 is because, despite Morales being faded, i belive he was the favorite going in that fight? And was actually giving Pacman some hell before eventually gassing and getting taken out, that and of course for the fact that Manny was the first (and to date the only) man to stop Morales. As for Oscar at 4, yes he was a zombie that night, but one can't forget how much of an underdog Pac was in that fight, many were saying he was gonna get hurt bad, him jumping 2 divisions and all. Manny ends up putting an spectacular performance...retiring the Golden Boy. Thats my take on it. And people!!! Nobody is saying anything about Pacquiao being in the top 10 of all time. We're simply discussing his top 15 wins, and if anyone agrees with the order or not. Thank You.
Louis was 50-1 when he fought Charles, and hadn't lost in 14 years!? As for Ezzard Charles 5 top wins, I'd say 5th place is a matter of debate. Let's just accept he beat a lot of HOFers. Charles 5th best win surpasses Floyd or Manny's number 1
Both good points. Perhaps you are right about Morales, I may reconsider that one. And Oscar is of course an underrated win, considering 18 out of 20 The Ring experts picked him to win.
I don't buy any win over Morales. El Terrible was coming off a bad loss even when he beat Pacquiao. 2nd fight,he was losing to journeymen at that time
