Here is why I think it will happen. There have been rumours that Hatton has been offered the fight, but if Ricky turns it down who else is there?

    1. Goldenboy need to do something big to renew there HBO deal
    2. If Mayweather doesn't fight, they have no PPV star
    3. Cotto is out of contract with Top Rank. You would be offering him a massive payday and a winnable fight
    4. Goldenboy are looking to break the market in NYC. What bigger fight could they do than Mexico vs Puerto Rico and the return of Oscar on the Puerto Rican day in June which is always big for PPV.

    It make allot of sense?

its been touted for a long time and never happened. as good as that fight is, Cotto vs Oscar smashes it at the box office.

De La Hoya should never fight again- however his loss to Pac looks nowhere near as bad now. He'd have struggled in his prime let alone at his advanced age- but still took his klumps like awarrir.

theres fight i would rather see but i wouldn't boycott it. be good to watch.

at 154lbs it could still be competitive.

3 years ago this would've probably been a good fight but now it would be a joke and even mentioning it as a possibility is stupid. Cotto would pummel de la Hoya now regardless of whatever weight it's at.
