Jesus, could they find a more tailor made opponent ? Chagaev has slow footwork, is methodical and one paced from what ive seen of him, a sitting duck for someone like Haye to move around and pot shot from the outside.

Chagaev is credible, but tailor made, this fight gets made I will be very disappointed in Haye.

Rubbish fight. It would have been an okay voluntary defence but it's rubbish. People still want to see the Klits, especially since Haye says he'll be retired by October. He is probably lying about that though. Nevertheless, I expect he'll have to make this fight because it is his mandatory. I'm sure there are special rules should he make a unification fight.

In all fairness to Haye, it's his mandatory fight but I agree that Chag is pretty much made to order for him

He beat Kali Meehan a few months back which made him number 1, I think the defence is due before April time

Is it too harsh to suggest this kinda thing was inevitable, that Haye should of had the foresight to know this kinda thing would happen, now that he holds a strap, all the more reason he should be not be fighting the likes of Harrison?

Its funny none of the british media picked up on the fact Chagaev is in line for a mandatory shot. They just kept going on about what Klitschko he will fight.

Chagaev is a good opponent in the current heavyweight landscape but if Haye faces him then it means he will only have time to fight Wlad or Vitali after the summer (assuming he sticks to his retirement deadline).

Nope, he should have known that a mandatory would be due soon. If some Boxing fans knew, he definitely should have known himself

If David Haye takes this fight and does not sign to fight a Klitschko Sister, then he is selling out his fans down the river.

Damn, if the WBA insist he has to fight Chag, give the belt back and fight a sister anyhow.

In a worse bargaining position if he does that which Haye is obviously concerned about

How dare you call the Klitschko's sister?

Why is that? David Haye has already won a title at the weight. There is nowhere else for the sisters to go, legacy wise. Haye brings a lot of money to the table, wba strap or no strap.

The fight with either sister has to be the next move Haye makes.

Because they want the WBA title to complete the collection.

I don't understand why Haye can't at least *ASK* the WBA for an exception to the mandatory defense in order to go for a unification fight? Using this path he woudln't have to fight Chagaev at all before retirement.

If he wins against Vitali e.g. in spring he'd do it all over again, new WBA/WBC exception in order to unify with Wlad.

According to the major sanctioning body statues, unifications take precedence over mandatory challengers.
