so? you can do it when your jogging too, but not so much when your running. you dont have to but amongst all the other reasons i mentioned its just a bonus that if your already jogging why not shadow box alittle too.
you cant throw hooks unless you pause for second and do some foot work with a combo then go back to jogging but you can throw out tons of jabs at all kinds of angles as well as practice rights and 1-2's
:deal I agree, I don't feel that shadow boxing while jogging helps me because I'm not in my stance. The one thing that I find helps my game in the ring is adding some changing of direction and side-to-side movement into my running, it seems good for speeding up my movement inside the ring.
if your actually going to a stance just pause throw a combo move around then go back to jogging. if your just jogging step normally for jogging throw lefts/jabs when you step off with the left and rights when you step off with the right.
To throw a punch you have to be in a fighting stance, otherwise what the hell is the point? You've said yourself, stop and throw some punches. That's not punching while jogging, that's what I'm saying.
you can be in punching stance while jogging, your body wedge and your right up chin tucked. because of the wedge when you step your right dosnt go out infront of your left as much as your left goes out infront of your right but you still stay wedged and you can still jog comfortable while you practice the angles or double up your jab while at the same time working on keeping your chin tucked and your right glued to your cheek.
Go and record yourself doing this, post the video here so we can have a laugh then watch it yourself. Maybe when you try it you'll realise how stupid it is. Again, you cannot do actual punching techniques while jogging.
i dont have any one that can just record me running and shadow boxing. the best i can do is shadow box and jog in a circle infront of my camera and that doesn't look as good. not bad just not as good if i were running in a straight line so i dont think ill put up a video.
Shadow boxing while running can give your arms some conditioning...of course you can argue you can do that just by swinging your arms. Some maý argue that it actually builds bad habits because by the vary nature of running you do not have correct footwork. Nonetheless I do it because it makes me feel more in the mind set of a boxer.
Plenty of great boxers do throw punches while running...so to mock someone because they do it is a bit of a streach.
I wouldn't post it just because I wouldn't take the time..but if you wanted to you could set up a camra on a stright path....go 100 yards away...and then run towards it. You would then just have to edit out some of the downtime.
Nothing wrong with punching whilst running, loads of boxers do it. It's not done to hone your punching technique any more than press-ups are done to hone your punching technique.
