we can't all be as erudite as you.you usually end an argument by calling a fighter a bum.this from a kid who hasn't set foot in a ring.

Moore has been ko'd by lesser punchers than Jones, we don't know how good Jones chin was in his prime

  7. well, i said :

jones was faster, more accurate, stronger, harder puncher, he had better reflexes, better feet work, more muscular, more advanced

he wasn't as muscular as moore, had less ko's than either moore or charles, his reflexes were no better than either charles or moore, he was no more accurate, he took more steroids than charles and moore and has less big wins over top heavies despite being the same size

I like Moore big in this one, always have. I now refuse to discuss it with PP though  On paper, Moore seems built specifically to beat a primed Roy, good pressure married to a legendary punch that made Moore the KO king and, crucially, perhaps un-equalled ability to trap, feint and invite. Roy would take some coaxing. Moore by knockout somewhere after the 8th when Moore has his read on his man.

Before people start screaming about bias, I think Jones would have a very very good chance against Ezzard Charles - better than his chances against the slightly inferior Moore.

I heard Archie gave him a hard time but I'm not surprised as Archiie is pretty much as crafty as you can be.

I agree with you. Ezzard at 175 was a killer. Too bad he didn't pick up a title there as he was more than good enough to do so. I don't see Jones beating a lt hvy Charles in a fantasy matchup.

Yeah. Moore's LHW competition alone is enough to spaz out Jones's entire career.
