floyd had a great selection of solid b and a level opponents to fight IN HIS PRIME and for some reason or another he didn't

he will never, EVER catch up to pac. unless he beats wlad he'll be the second best ***** in his generation and will remembered 30 years in worse light than fighters he beat (ie: mosley, gatti)

the fact that people (like myself) have to look back at all time greats to find someone who beats him is a testimony to his skill. and even then i might only bet on maybe 10 guys in his weight classes in history to beat him. he's the most talented fighter post roy jones and represents one of the most techincally gifted fighters since harold johnson. he makes no mistakes, period

 

FLoyd has an outstanding legacy. Possibly top 3 of the last 10 years. Your analogy is frankly ****.

Floyd fought the greatest lightweight of the last 10 years, after establishing a resume at super featherweight that is maybe number 1 at worst number 2 of all-time.

At the age of 24 Floyd was considered the best ever at a weight. Think on that for a moment before you disparage his legacy for not fighting the likes of Margarito and miguel Cotto.

legacy pre-140 is brilliant. i did make a comment that he had one of the most promising careers of the last 20 or 30 years.

he was not selective in his opponents or the timing of his fights before gatti. he sure as hell was after gatti

one thing about fantasy match-ups: barrera style-wise whoops pacs ass. if they have not fought, people would say pac doesn't stand a chance against a smarter fighter more technically sound barrera (as was the case before they fought). but the result showed otherwise.

 

I think he will be remembered along the likes of a Wilfred Benitez when its all said and done. Guys like Tommy Hearns or Alexis Arguello would be ranked ahead of him.

 

The real question is can Manny Pacquiao surpass Floyd's legacy in women's boxing? I think not.
