This is what many fans and even Freddy Roach are saying about the man. Apparently he has fought most of his career having a hard time cutting weight and now all of a sudden, after 50 plus professional fights, he has finally found his right weight class. Even though he has to eat 7000 calories a day to keep on the weight, he was struggling before?

he was struggling to make 130 since his rematch with MAB. the only reason why he fought JMM @ 130 because the belt was there.

it was well documented how he struggled on his weight during the JMM rematched.

he started struggling at 130 during the second barrera fight and the result showed. the next fight was against MarquezII and manny was still trying to drain minutes before the weigh-in. it was a good decision to leave 130 and challenge Diaz at 135, the rest was history

and because the fans were pressuring him to make the fight at 130 when team Pacquiao wanted the fight at 135.

I don't think eating 7000 calories a day has as much to do with "keeping" the weight as it has to do with being sufficient for his ridiculously vigorous training.

Michael Phelps requires 12000 calories a day during his training.

Also, if I recall his two early KO losses in his career were direct results of trying to make weight. I believe he lost his 112 title at the scales and then got KO'd in the fight itself. He's got 8 titles from 112 to 154 but he skipped from 112 right past 115 and 118 to fight in the 122 division. Manny was growing into his mature man-size which is a 135-140 fighter that cuts a little bit but not too much to make weight. Instead he just decides to fight at his natural training/walking around weight of 144-148 which is also similar to what Floyd does. Floyd hardly has to cut any weight at all to make 147. Floyd could make 140 pretty easily but chooses to just stay comfortable at 147 since there's more money there anyways.

Yeah and when he turned pro he was below the weight for the minimum allowed and would put weights in his pockets to make weight. He was also 4ft 11" when he turned pro as a 16 year old. He was a midget and he failed to make the weight for his 12th bout that he lost by stoppage.

Then as he became an adult, he rapidly filled out and had to work very hard to make weight in the lower divisions.

I don't think he is at his natural weight now, but 135-140 seems about right.

Take some tests and Super Saiyan Pacquiao turns back to ordinary. At 32 you don't double your output and stamina as you get older. In most fights his fight night weight was the around same when he fought JMM.148lbs. His average was 600 punches a fight and his chin wasn't as good as it is now. He's fought in a state that doesn't require drug testing. It's time to walk the walk and talk the talk. Sorry to hate but its EPO people. It isn't passion and determination and being Gods second begotten son it's PED's. If they took a sample of his blood right now his red blood cell count would be off the chain.
