Buncey, don't take this the wrong way. Last week you mentioned that you have "flogged dead horses in the past" most notably a fight that you got a significant amount of space in the independent if i remember correctly. You also said that Haye-Harrison was not a dead horse being flogged, or something along those lines.

What i am asking is, did you believe that it was a live fight at the time or did you know, like most, that Haye was going to walk it, but maybe you wanted to stay on the good side of Sky Sports by not saying that their big money fight was dead in the water?

For the record, love the podcast, however i do admit to only listening to the Haye Harrison previews whilst runnning yesterday evening, hence the quotes.

He owes them nothing, i agree, but you want to slag off one of the biggest boxing broadcasters this side of the Atlantic whilst having possible job prospects with them? I know i certainly would not.

In all fairness, a lot of people did get sucked into the hype of the fight, and it did have potential to be good for British boxing. Thats if Harrison had looser hands and at least threw a few.

My main point was that last week Buncey built the fight up and constantly re iterated that he was not flogging a dead horse. Did he believe the hype or not?

Booth and Haye made excuses. He has said "David has always said what would happen" and what that doesn't explain is why they selected such a poor fight for a voluntary.

We just wanna hear him say they did it for the money. You can say Booth won't do it but its not like Hayemaker are PR experts!

I thought that Aud would try. That was my stance from Sept 7th.
The Prizefighter film on SKY had nothing to do with SKY!
Big Dunk...they selected such a 'poor' fight for a voluntary for the same reasons that Lennox went with Jackson, Bowe with Dokes, Frazier with Stander, Foreman with Roman, Ali with Dunn...ease and easy money.
Read my preview in Saturday's Independent and it is clear that this fight was a cash exercise. I always said that.
It was not hype...I thought Aud would try.
It's nearly time...it's a staggering show tonight with 12 voices!!!

    Adios.

Booth and Boente on ringside this evening. I'm hoping Smith gets tough when he is questioning Booth and goes hard on him, though thats highly unlikely..Booth and Boente can iron out the problems in negotiations right infront of us all, get it sorted lads..

Cheers Bunce, not the kind of guy for the independent so missed that. But cheers for making that clear.

**** me this is getting tasty already!

I can see it now. Buncey: 'my brothers on ESB have turned on me' lol.

Don't worry big man, we still love you. We just hate getting ripped off or 'gang raped' by a fighter who had no intention of fulfilling his 'destiny' (half rolling my eyes right now)

are your independent articles avalible online?

All of them put up a better performance Harrison and deserved there shot more. No question. Harrison was the least deserving world heavyweight title challanger in history and in turn he put in the worst performance. It was a horrific combination thats cast a black eye on boxing.

Haye promised a legacy, he promised a Klitscko. He gave us Harrison and made our sport a joke by betting on the 3rd round. His popularity will plumit further sunday morning.

It seems people in the business want to sweet it under the carpet, same with Haye betting on the fight, which he clearly did. The people demand answers and we expect the man of the people and hardcore boxing fans Steve Bunce to ask those questions and get the answers. Are you that man Steve, is this your calling?

What we want is a classic 10 minute rant from Bunce. We don't want to hear you slagging of the hardcore fans nobody cares about, because we are the ones that care about you. We want 10 minutes and we want Booth AND Haye slagged off.

Haha, all this post needs is the theme tune to The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

As for Harrison being the most undeserving HW title challenger ever, what about the guy who fought Patterson on his debut after winning gold in the Olympics.

Noticed when reading Bunces last article the 'most popular articles in sport' bit.

Most of them are boxing with a "Ten best British boxers ever" article from last year at No.3, maybe this Haye hype wasn't all bad after all :hey
