Jimmy Ellis Versus David Tua

    Would Ellis get smashed by a left hook, or does he get an easy decision win? Ellis was doing fine against Frazier early in both fights, but Frazier's body punching softened him up for the knockout on both occasions. Tua didn't work the body as well as he should have, but packed a harder wallop than Frazier. Who takes this one?

    you pretty much nailed the two possibilities and i think both are equally likely. 50/50 on ellis UD or Tua late round KO

    Ellis was a very good fighter. Tua was a decent fighter with a great punch. I think Ellis would have outlasted Tuas power and decisioned him.

    I'd take Ellis to keep Tua at a distance,for most of the time,and score constantly with his jab,and underrated right hand. Tua would be dangerous from beginning to end though.

    guys.... get real... shavers and frazier destroyed ellis. tua might too and you know it.
    frazier was better than tua ok.... but shavers? noway!!! tua would destroy ellis. no doubt.
    frazier was better than tua but tua was lightly harder puncher, shavers was lightly harder puncher than tua, but tua was better than shavers.

    Tua could be out boxed and Ellis did it to Bonavena and Frazier scored a legit KO over him but Tua was no Frazier. Dave has power and a chance but the Ellis that lost to Shavers was a shot version in the last days and he hurt Earnie prior to the bomb. I was there in MSG.

    I like Jimmy to out box Dave

    Tua of '98 ices Ellis of '68 in a time machine...... Ellis is slick really early on, but gets caught, dropped and stopped by Tua's power... Tua KO 4 Ellis.......

    The Tua of 2000 and 2001 who was out-boxed by "Lewis and Byrd" was already getting lazy and slipping..... Peace.....
