Jones never even fought anyone as good as Harold Johnson....and Archie beat Harold 4 out of 5.

If Archie can put The Rock on the deck, then Jones will head there too.

    Moore in 8 rds.

This would be a chess match from the onset. In the beginning, I could see Jones shocking Moore with speed and power. But overall Jones would be very cautious. Depending on how Jones approached him, Moore would attempt to lure Jones into him, by offering a target, then taking it away with his swiveling head movement.
Jones commented that Toney employed the 'mongoose' style, and Jones did well against Toney. But it absolutely must be considered that Moore is a much harder puncher than Toney. If Jones stays back and I think he would due to Archie's power, Moore attempts to cut off the ring and minimize the amount of room Jones uses. At light heavyweight, Jones was prone at times to go against the ropes, this would be fatal against Moore. Jones has all the physical gifts and is brilliant...Moore has the technique and experience gained from fighting men that no one wanted to fight. Moore had the experience to hold Jones in a clinch and still get his own punches off. He could place his head under Roy's chin not allowing him to leverage his punches. He would (problably) be the best feinter that Jones ever faced...Making Jones hesitate. I'm not degrading Jones at all...I think he could possibly upset any great you would care to name, but given a fight at their best...I would take Moore due to his vast experience and power.

First let me say before i get to your post Bodhi...some of the replies in this thread are just horrible. Some are by Jones nuthuggers and some are Jones haters, which i kind of see Bodhi has a hate for Jones somewhere. I remember one time he said Dariusz has just about a good as resume as Jones at Light Heavy....no Bodhi, yea we know you like your European boxers, but no.

Anyways to get on your actual post.

Michael Spinks didn't beat any ATG Light Heavyweight fighters, so what are you trying to say?

Even without beating any ATG Light Heavies, it's plain to see that Roy Jones and Spinks are both H2H some of the best at that weight.

I could really only see Spinks and Charles beating Jones if I had to put money on it. Other than that I wouldn't have bet on anyone else. They would either have a 50/50 chance against him or lower. Just my personal opinion.

So, I get called a Jones hater, again. For what? For critizising his resume, or lack there of? Well, it´s a fact that he didn´t fight the best fighters around but instead chose the easy way. And something that must be critizised because if nobody does it will happen again and again, see Mayweather for evidence. If this makes me a Jones-hater, so be it.
And yeah, there is not much between Jones´and DM´s lhw resume. Jones has a few more names on it since he fought a bit longer but that´s it. Qualitywise there´s nothing between them. Both are weak.
European-bias ... wow, you are the first one to bring that up. No, sorry to disappoint you, outside of some Germans my favourite fighters are all from the new world.

Spinks lhw resume is so much superior to Jones´. The only win of Jones there coming somehow close to the best of Spinks is Hill but he was past prime, came of a loss and nearly a year layoff. And another difference is, Spinks fought everyone there was to fight, Jones did not. Yes, he didn´t beat any atgs but some who aren´t far aways. Oh, and I don´t rate Spinks as high as most on here. Top10 but not at the very top.

I can see plenty of atg lhws beating Jones. Tunney, Loughran, Moore, Bivins, Lewis, Charles, Spinks, Foster, Torres. They are all in with a very good chance, quite a few even favourites. Yes Jonesy looked spectacular but against overmatched opposition. If he would pull of some of his tricks against real atgs he would get embarrassed. I guess he would know that too and won´t do it but in the end he had many flaws and got away with it to his speed. But there are ways to counter speed, timing, a good jab, Jones´ opponents weren´t good enough to do so but those guys are like in a different sport.

Yes you get called a hater because you said Jones only fought bums at light heavy. Merqui Sosa, Eric Harding, Reggie Johnson, Antonio Tarver, Virgil Hill and Montell Griffin are not bums. Plus you have lesser fighters but still good wins in Julio Cesar Gonzalez and Clinton Woods

You really think Torres and Loughran have a very good chance at beating Jones? Jones would embarras the **** out of both of them. The rest you mentioned have good chances tho.

My dear friend, that´s the problem with people who are taking posts out of context. I answered a post, look who I answered, what he wrote and you know why I answered like I did. I often exaggerate to make a point, especially when I answer fanboys. Why do you critizise that I called Jones´ lhw opponents bums but not that I did the same to Spinks´, and he foguth better fighters?

Yeah, I think Torres has the right style to beat Jones and Loughran has the skill to put Jones of his game and the jab to neutralize his timing.

just seen this thread , for me the 12 round distance would favour jones in so much that it would give moore 3 less rounds to work on jones to set him up for the ko, but as i am sure i am going for what most people think , moore to catch up and stop jones late probably being behind on the scorecards
