Asked about fighting Floyd Mayweather, Pacquiao said, "If it happens it happens. If not, I'm satisfied with my career, but that fight would be great for boxing."

 

I agree with both Big George and Pac.

If the Mayweather fights fails to be made, Pacquiao can retire tomorrow and the world would be fully content with his achievements.

The same can't be said for Mayweather.

 

I agree. Floyd needs Pac and not the other way around.

Honestly...he's comparing Pacquiao fighting Mayweather to him fighting Ali.

We all know how that turned out.

 

Except mayweather is the betting favourite, more like Ali vs holmes to me.

 

Boxing world need their fight. It must be happen.

But 2011 is defo the cutoff, After this the inactivity/age factor for Floyd will ultimately kick in.

If Pac doesn't beat Floyd and the retires he will NEVER be regarded as the best pound for pound fighter of this era because there will FOREVER be question marks that he didnt fight the best. The same goes for Floyd. They both need the fight just as bad because without it neither of their legacies can be secured!!

 

Sorry fellas, i can't not accept this fight won't happen. This generation of boxings hagler-hearns. (minus 1 aggresive fighter)

History needs these two legends to face each other.

 

Floyd needs Pac more. When it comes to not fighting the fighters a person should have faced, Mayweather is far more guilty. If this bout doesn't take place, it's his legacy which will be damaged the most out of the two.

I concur! This fight needs to happen more than anything, nothing can be taken away from Manny as he has proven his ATG status but we cannot deny the magnitude and atmosphere this fight will produce that will dwell for eternity. It will eventually set combat sport standards for highest PPV and worldwide hype, u name it.. I mean a lot of positive impact for boxing's future. WE NEED THIS FIGHT! :good

 

Boxing and the fans deserve to have it. It's a pity for this generation not to witness a great match up in boxing history. But what can we do if one chooses not to take that path because of selfish reasons.
Pac needs no Floyd after what he had achieved in this sport. Mayweather can perpetually brag, even put to history his great skills and clean record, but that's all he will be remembered, nothin more.
