Wait, nobody can beat him...but Pacquiao's got a puncher's chance? Are you not contradicting yourself a little?

You know what sure, a speedy counterpuncher could conceivably land a punch while Pac is bouncing out in midhop (JMM did it at rd 2 of the rematch).....but heres another theory, he could pick those shots while in midhop. He does have arms doesn't he? I've seen him pick and parry shots while on the move enough times, which is impressive in it self the amount of times pac puts himslef in harms way. What Im trying to say is that bouncy thing Pac does obviously works for him. Would it work for other fighters? Prolly not....they dont have those huge calves Pac has. You have to be subjective when comparing Pac to other fighters. That lil bounce he does, thats where the power comes from...they add the extra weight to his punches. Theyre like turbo boosters. This is what Steward means when he says he punches through people....his legs are driving him forward while he's punching. Defensively it gets him out of range, offensively it allows him to close distance quickly and provides momentum and leverage to his punches.

It was this bouncy style without the Roach refinements that won him his frist two belts against two pure boxer types in Sasakul and Ledwaba....hardly the come forward brawlers you say he's being showcased against.

I read philly shell and stopped reading. He doesn't use the philly shell against southpaws. He uses peek a boo guard like Winky. He only uses the "philly shell"(if thats what you call it) against a southpaw when in close for in fighting .

You should have read more because I said the same thing. I even said he would use the same style defence as Winky.

There's no point in talking for pages about how good Floyd's defence is, because he won't use his trademark defence. I don't think the defence he uses against southpaws, will be good enough to beat Pacquiao.

Footing is the most important variable in boxing . Manny doesn't land mid air like Tekken or Street Fighter. Manny still sets his feet when he puts his body into a shot. Watch what happened to Ricky while lunging in.

That's what makes the fight intriguing . Is Manny's offense truly that great or is it hype due to the opposition making him look good? Is Floyd's defense all that it's cracked up to be? I'm getting alittle too excited for something that may not happen or is still a long time away. His timing can be the difference in Pacs momentum in that stance though.

Thats a given but its the momentum from the hop or bouncing in when he lands his feet that provides that extra umph in his punches. Call it what you like momentum, thrust drive....pAc's got those running back legs that adds alotta weight to his punches.

The fact of the matter is Manny doesn't hop. Thats just hating to say so. He always has one foot down which he uses to propel himself forward fast as hell. The thing though is like you said it puts momentum on his shots. I just want to see how he does when he's timed because in the past he's looked like ****. People say he walks though shots and keeps throwing. Thats nutthugging trying to make Manny sound like Rocky. You watch Morales 1 and both JMM fights. Those were the only opponents that timed Manny while he was lunging in which disrupted his momentum and rhythm leading to them following with more shots. I think Floyd is going to have to do the same and do it early to **** Manny from the beginning .

The only way to stop the juggernaut is to stop his momentum .

Mayweather does one thing that nobody bar hatton ever did. He ties you up. He uses the clinch better than anyone. Cotto/Margarito and pretty much everyone else that got the brakes beat off em dont clinch at all or dont know how to. Clinching stops you from getting punched with that 4th and 5th punch of a Manny combo, it will frustrate the **** out of Pac, it also will take him out of rhythm. Thats the difference between Floyd and these other dudes. Floyd has a multi faceted game.

Pac's workrate and offence will overcome Floyd's defence and now lack of movement of his legs.

In short Pac has an better offence than Floyd, but Floyd has an better defence than Pac.

But now I dont see Floyd holding out to Pac, i think Pac would KO Floyd at any point if they ever got in the ring.
