I actually heard Mike in an interview where he stated that Hearns was one of the hardest hitters pound for pound, and that he had the power to knock out heavyweights.

Probably did say that....doesnt mean hed beat Mike Tyson though :)

  4. old foreman in his 40s fought 12 rounds against a prime evander holyfield, past prime evander holyfield destroyed tyson twice, tyson was humiliated and destroyed by pure **** like mcbride, williams in his late 30s, the only joke is tyson. buster douglas ( a weak ***** bum) knocked tyson out!!! loool. george foreman is x2 stronger,x3 harder puncher ,he had much better chin and more heart, foreman was bad mentally when he faced young and lyle(both men better than douglas by a mile), but still he lost by ud, against young because jimmy was a stylist he ran to survive, and foreman did beat lyle by ko, the style of lyle was not even close to the style of tyson, little rabbit, lyle was a muscular a very strong boxer-puncher 220 pounder, with long reach, he took shots from earnie shavers, tyson was a short puncher, great difference.
old foreman knocked down stewart twice, and he(a puncher) ran during all the fight, and he lost because he was a chicken, tommy morrison(who did fight much better than tyson did against ruddock and prime lewis), tommy was intelligent, his trainer told him," if you exchange blows with george you will get ko" and he ran to win by points. tyson would not run, he would exchange with george, and it would be his end. george foreman did return to the boxing because he saw an opportunity in tyson. foreman might be outboxed by stylists like holmes or ali. but tyson was the class of fighter who was the perfect victim for a brute like george. you can not understand it because you never trained boxing in your pathetic life. styles make fights. if you want we can make a thread on this topic... you know that you will lose... the 90% of the experts and boxing fans with Knowledge on boxing .. all them pick a prime foreman 72-74 to beat prime mike tyson by ko.
just (little pussies) tyson fanboys like you are the 10%.
    learn ****ing boxing, punk

Hearns knocked heavyweights all over the ring in sparring.

    Mentioning no names, Tony Tucker!

    News to me.

Then again Trevor Berbick was apparently kicking Tysons ass in sparring too.

Thing is Mike happened to have a tremendous chin and inhuman abaility to absorb punishment. Look at what Lennox and Douglas did, and these are some big heavy guys. I keep picturing Hearns right hand just affecting Tyson like a mosquito bite for some reason......

Tyson is kinda like Hagler on steroids

hmmm tyson beats foreman in 91 simple,

    prime for prime who knows,

but whats the bs that tyson cant trade with him, yes they both hit super hard and foreman is stronger physically

but speed and short punches kill...slow and looping punches

    foreman throws one
    tyson slips and throws 3.

anyone who has ever been in a ring knows
    how important speed/hand speed is

again people will say how foreman manhandled everyone he fought
there is a reason for it, he picked who he fought

that is why he never faced guys like ruddock, bruno, dokes, mercer etc
because they were the type of guys he might not be able to back up

foreman loved to the stronger and harder hitting man in the ring
and didnt fight the guys who could challenge that

Tommy is a true legend but that fight would of been a horrible massacre.

I think it's quite relevant, it's the knockdown by Page that doesn't really matter.
It was only in sparring for the Douglas fight that Berbick was schooling him & that certainly wasn't the Peak Tyson who obliterated him nearly 4 years earlier. Notice how rarely he was sparring, how he was being repeatedly tagged, had bad trouble with balance, timing & combinations (likely due to getting rid of "The Willie" when he left Rooney), instead opting to throw singular (presumably headhunting) bombs. Call my crazy, but even at 35 I think Berbick might have outboxed the lethargic Tyson that Douglas beat, & he certainly was much more competitive with Douglas than Tyson was.

No fat, but still a lot of water left. Boxers at middleweight and below were able to lose larger amounts of water than that, so losing 12-12 pounds shouldn't be a problem for heavyweight. Whether or not a fight with Hearns would be worth it is completely another issue.
