Shot? Not yet but he's heading that way and clearly not at his best anymore. I think he's still capable of being competitive and beating fighters when matched right. I think he's a good oponent for Berto but gets eaten up by Pacquaio.
put it this way Shane should never be put in the ring against a top tier fighter again...so basically he should retire
How can you even ask such a question? Go watch him 10 years ago then come back and answer your own thread
Are you going to answer my question? I only ask to see what ESB thinks because many on here keep saying Shane is shot. Notice I made my poll public so I can see who feels he is or isn't.
On the decline? Absolutely. Been for a while. But I'll say he's shot when he's losing to journeymen. Till then, the jury's still out.
Great assessment especially with combinations. Now he throws his punches more wild & if he doesn't get a ko he's pretty much screwed. I feel he was more patient then even though he still toke opponents out the majority of times.
I'm still hesistant to call him shot too. I didn't notice people calling him shot until after the Mayweather fight. Against Mora, Shane was fighting a very negative fighter from what I've heard so it's safe to say the jury is out for him. Shane shouldn't have been in there with Mora or Mayweather in the first place.
I wouldnt call him shot, but he is definitely past his best. It does seem like if he doesnt fight somebody who comes right at him he's in trouble as his footwork has really faded.
He is definatley still a live fighter, but way past his best. Should avoid fighters with movement at this stage. I personally would like to see him retire. He has had a glittering career where a lot of the time he lived up to the name 'sugar', but it is time to get out, before the ill effects of the sport kick in.
He can still fight when motivated as he showed vs. Margarito. I know he apparently did bad vs Mora but Mora is a good fighter when he's up for it. He is definitly better at welter imo but he's hit and miss there. I still think he can pull a huge performance out but he needs to be up for it. No matter how talented you are you need to train hard to win a fight.
Rumors of him being shot have come and gone for years actually. It's his highly inconsistent performances that make some jump the gun.
