Anyone with any familiarity at all regarding the history of Tim Smith's pathetic Pac-hating knew this one was coming:

LINK: TIM SMITH DISSES PACQUIAO FOR THE 1,000,00TH TIME

Today's Pac Hatin' Ramble from Smith is that Pacquiao should not be called "The Greatest," and that Pac should think about fighting, possibly, Paul Williams or James Kirkland.

There are numerous hypocrisies contained in Smith's piece. I have taken it upon myself to call out Smith repeatedly here on ESB for what I believe are his lies and mischaracterizations concerning Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather and what I feel is the drug testing excuse used by Team Mayweather to twice duck fighting Pacquiao.

Now, for those who have been paying attention, you are probably well aware at this point that Smith should not, in my opinion, be working at the New York Daily News but would be better suited for a certain combat sports website that rhymes with "Right Tripe." That site, in my opinion, is a Mayweather megaphone, essentially a Floyd propaganda outlet, and that is where Smith would fit in best. He is, I feel, a Floyd Boot Licker of the highest order, which means, of course, he's a Pac Hater.

Smith achieved his noted infamy regarding Pacquiao due to his reporting on what appears to be a non-existent email supposedly written by someone in Team Pacquiao that allegedly said Team Pac wanted to know what would happen if Pac tested positive in a supposed blood test/drug test situation for the proposed Mayweather fight.

Unfortunately, the email apparently doesn't exist. So, either Smith didn't check out the information like a competent journalist before he printed it or he willingly chose to smear Pacquiao in print knowing that the email wasn't real. To my knowledge, Smith never apologized for the smear, either. Even though he knew Pacquiao was correctly taking people to court over having been smeared with false PED accusations.

Then, Smith refused to attend press conferences that involved Pacquiao. Reason? Because, in my opinion, the Filipino media wanted to ask him about the email scandal, and Smith didn't want to answer. So, even though he is the main boxing writer for the New York Daily News, Smith didn't go to the Pacquiao-Clottey presser in New York City. Nor did he go to the Fighter Of The Decade award ceremony for Pacquiao in New York City.

Get the picture? Smith appeared to want to hold down the Pac-Man by not covering him.

Now, that approach has failed. And guess what? Smith covered the "overhyped" (his words) Pacquiao-Margarito fight in Texas. Looks like a NYDN editor might have told Timmy it was time to man up.

So, since Pacquiao now rules the sport, essentially, and Floyd may be doing some prison time, Smith -- the boxing writer -- has to cover Pac again and stop throwing temper tantrums.

And he'll cover Pacquiao, all right. On Timmy's terms.

Thus you get the latest Tim Smith claptrap, this sack of junk he calls a column.

You'll get a special laugh as he tries to justify the Williams-Martinez II catchweight but make the Pacquiao-Margarito catchweight seem "worse."

Tim, you still suck, but at least you're making us laugh. You lost, bro: Pac's running sh*t now. And your proxy fighter isn't, and doesn't look like he ever will again.

    Ain't that a shame?

Smith should be sacked for that article, a disgrace, made Vivek Wallace seem impartial in comparison.

While Smith is right that Pacquiao shouldn't be considered the best of all time, he's also a ****ing idiot for a number of things in that article. Mentioning DLH and Hatton when saying "are these the guys to prove Pac's greatness?" but leaving out the Mexican 3. The Bradley/Alexander winner would be a nice fight for Pac, but they really wouldn't be stern challenges...and once Pac beat them, he'd be right back at it calling it a mismatch joke of a fight.

I think he has a point, but Pac's greatness is proved more by his lighter weights accomplishments, which are quite numerous and noteworthy, which the Author seems to gloss over.

Here is another New York Daily News article on pacquiao and written by someone with more journalistic credential and boxing reputation-- Bill Gallo.

    http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/more_sports/2010/11/16/2010-11-16_vote_for_pac_carries_punch.html

In case you don't know who Bill Gallo is, he is a hall of famer in boxing and an important figure in Boxing Writer's Association in America, something Tim Smith will never be even in his wildest daydreaming. watch bill gallo in action with Larry Merchant

I'm not familiar with Tim Smiths's work. But what he says in that article isn't too ridiculous.

Guy is a racist loser. He mentions Manny's first 3 fights above 135 and does not credit him for beating and destroying Cotto, Clottey and Margarito three tough and tested welterweights. What a toool.

"And though he has moved up the ladder in weight, he has yet to face a dangerous puncher."

He's just a racist idiot who has a problem with Pacman, probably because Pac has filed suit against him for Slander... you know, because Tim Smith made up facts in an attempt to smear Pacs reputation.
