"begun with the victory (49-46) in 57 kg of the Irishman of Paris, John Joe Nevin, on Vincenzo Picardi. Beautiful performance of Nevin. The high guard and the eye of the lynx, it imposed while managing well his matter, well protected, with its counter-attacks. Very beautiful fight."
Bad on-line translation of a report in the French boxing website but you get the gist. Imagine an eight rounder between Nevin and Casey, what a contrast of styles. Great win by JJ over an Olympic medalist in his own backyard, the first fight of all in the WSB promotion. 5 x 3 min rounds, no headgear or vests, 10 point pro scoring.

That lad Mutafchiev must be related to Brian Peters or something this is the third Peters show in a row he will be on.
Fitzpatrick him 59-55 in donegal ,Donnellan beat him 40-37 in limerick now its cruises turn in mayo.
Once he boxes in Dublin in december he will have the provinces covered.:rofl

I know some promoters were saying Andy versus Duddy would be wasted on feb 4th so its a Paddy day possibility.
Cant wait for Andy to get that ****** off his back with a resounding win over Vera and espn live aswell great exposure.

Alright, fair enough, can you inform me of that magical date with which i can start challenging decent folk to a ****ing brawl at Irish boxing shows without appearing an abosulute twat!

Can't believe you're making excuses for such behaviour.

Andy v Vera would be a great fight before a fight against Duddy. No point giving it the big build up all the way to Paddy's for what we all know will be a one sided fight against Duddy.

I think Healy has the beating of Waldron - I hope he gets a fair crack if it goes to points

this new wsb lads could be interestin

with the like of nevin fightin a carbon copy of proboxing 5 rounders they could turn over straight to 8 rounders fightin much better opposition than usual

I would guess there will be a number of the am boxers out there taking a bit of interest in the up coming budget. IF there grants get hit big time it could well lead a lot of them turning Pro. I hope the goverment look after the lads as at London we could well be looking at our best amount of medals from the ring. If the goverment **** them over we will be in the **** and lucky to have a good team going over.
