I agree and I've been saying this all along.

 

yes, pacquiao is a one-handed one dimensional slugger, he's only got speed and power but no strategy and no ring generalship. he's always fought that way and you can't teach an old dog new tricks lol.

 

watch his fights again, ocassionally he would let clottey get in some free shots to entertain the crowd. pac was unstoppable in the middle of the ring and was tattoing cotto yet from time to time he would invite him to throw punches while he lays on the rope to make the fight more exciting. same for margarito, pac could've coasted to a win but preferred to brawl from time to time because as he says, he's more concerned about entertaining the crowd

 

Thing is though S_S, we said De La Hoya would smash him, many said Hatton would be too strong, many said Cotto was a step too far....

With Pacquiao it is hard to count him out IMO, he has that great belief in himself and that great heart. He is a great fighter, not just on resume.

All those guys you listed should all beat Pacquiao, but it would not surprise me greatly if Pacquiao beat one or two of them. Also could you not draw up a list like that for most top20-30 fighters?

Also his physicality is amazing, I'll cover that below.

You are correct here, for once!

I was watching Pacquiao vs Marquez I and II last night and noticed this. Marquez was much superior technically but Pacquiao was able to bust through with hard shots due to his pure physical force, it was amazing to see really. His technical skills were poor but when he let his hands go and attacked he was viscous. In the rematch I think Pacquiao was able to tidy up some technical short comings and it made his physicality more potent and made the fight alot closer on rounds IMO.

As he has moved up in weight, I think he has improved his technical skills alot, and has a good set of skills.

 

It's all just opinions, Pac might beat all of them. I don't think he does though, simple as that.

I won't let my imagine fly for him killing an already dead DLH and beating the likes of Cotto, Hatton and Margo. Others are free to do so if they so choose.

 

:twisted: OK I was talking bollox but Nelson is reliant on the left hook, punches wide and fights square on and likes to get to mid range to get off, this is a bread and butter style to Pac. The fighters who've had the most success against Pac all had good right hands, is it a coincidence fighters with weak rights like Delahoya, Hatton, Cotto, Barrera did the worst against him? Where as the best right handers like Morales, Marquez and Larios seemed to have the most success? Clottey did too when he actually through. Chavez is too similar to Barrera to have success against Pac imo but his right hand is certainly better, but good enough to win here, I don't think so, Pacuqiao also brings the same speed and movement of a Taylor. You can land jabs and left hooks on southpaws, but as you should know its harder and you need more educated footwork

The thing that makes Pacquaio so hard to fight isn't just his speed and power. Its the fact he steps in quickly, so the shot isn't just coming its coming from range at speed

As for Marquez-Pacquaio 2, I do think Pacquaio improved technically but I also think Marquez had slowed a bit.

 

Yup, and it's not a fact, and in my own opinion Pac would beat many fighters on your list.

 

Pacquiao is a Top 30 ATG for sure. But Best Offensive Fighter I've ever seen, NO! He's not a better fighter than Pac but the Best Offensive Fighter I've ever seen is prime Mike Tyson. Tyson threw straighter punches than Pac. Manny couldn't throw a combination as beautiful and deadly as the one Tyson knocked down Jose Ribalta with. When he threw the two punch combo to the body and threw an uppercut up the middle on Ribalta. That's one of the best combo's I've ever seen.
