MANILA, Philippines – Newly-crowned World Boxing Council (WBC) super welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao laughed off a report that he has long been eluding African-American fighters.

“Tayo naman ‘di tayo tanghalin na pound-for-pound king kung may pinipili tayong laban,” the 8-dvision world champion said in a press conference at the NAIA Terminal 2 on Saturday.

(I wouldn’t be chosen pound-for-pound king if I have been cherry picking my opponents).

Pacquiao issued his reaction after arriving from the US on Saturday following his conquest of Antonio Margarito of Mexico last Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

The Filipino boxing hero said he has never backed down from any challenge and is willing to fight anyone.

“Kahit sino, basta boksingero... [kahit si] Mosley, Mayweather (I’ll fight any boxer… even if it’s Shane Mosley or Floyd Mayweather Jr.),” said Pacquiao.

c'mon Floyd, enough with your BS. Its time to step up.

He is laughing it off. That's why he wants to fight the least "black" out of the black boxers.

Shane isn't black enough for you Leon? Does he need to wear a dashiki and eat collard greens and fried chicken at the press conference?

He needs to go around beating up woman and start hanging out with gay rappers and if that isnt enough he can always throw a racist rant on Ustream.

Let's look at two classic modern-day three-way African-American rivalries consisting of six of the greatest fighters ever to step into the ring.

    Ali - boxer, Foreman - brawler-puncher, Frazier - swarmer

    Hearns - boxer-puncher, Leonard - boxer, Hagler - counter-puncher

Please explain to me what 'black' style is and how these six great African-American fighters embody said style. Thanks.

SNV is one of the few "white" fighters with a "black American" style, incidentally. Although, I consider that style more of a Russian style, of course...Black Russian. Slicker n' cat**** on a summer day, friends. Why won't Pacquiao fight the Sugar Man? The REAL sugar? Hmm?

I don't know what Bhop meant about "The Black boxer". The only thing I can think of is that black fighters tend to have more speed compare to (latino, white, asian) boxers and I am not saying they all are faster I just think that it is what he meant but who knows.

I noticed fighters from America, usually blacks, will actually clinch compared to lots of foreigners who don't.
