I'm honestly surprised it took this long.

I thought Martinez was going to get him out of there with the big knockdown in the first fight but he couldn't put them together effectively. This time he didn't need to. One punch brutal style.

Remember that Paul Williams fights with his chin up in the air, from at range and from inside. Margarito and Wright didn't have the precision nor the power to get it done while Mitchell and Quintana were too small.

Expect this to happen again (maybe not as brutal) in the future if Williams keeps fighting the way he does.

 

Just like Margarito, PW was a KO waiting to happen. Volume punching with disregard to defense.

 

I feel sorry for Williams. His trainers have a tall guy with an 82 inch reach, and they have him fight close. What is the advantage to being tall if you don't fight tall. Hearns was the famous tall welt. of the past and he always fought tall. Gets everything you can out of being tall. Tommy rarely fought inside fights until he fought at 175.
