Williams should have complained that it was a head butt, he might have gotten a draw

Hell of a shot by Martinez. I was expecting this to go all 12. I think Williams can recover from this loss. He's a young fighter. But, damn...Williams needs to learn how use that height and reach. Anyway, I had Martinez to win. He's a hell of a fighter, at this stage of his career. He needs to be involved in a money fight, asap. I doubt if Floyd or Pac go anywhere near him though. He may have to move up and take on Bute, like he'd mentioned before. Williams, on the other hand, needs to refine his game a bit, then move back down to 154, or seek a rubbermatch with Martinez.

Hey man, I've been for a Quintana vs. Williams rematch since the second fight happened. I've made the point many times that a quick knockout really tells us nothing about how the fight would have gone. So, as for this fight, I'd certainly be in for a rubber match. They're 1-1, despite this one being emphatic.

I'd like to see a rubber match but it's not really needed. Martinez is 2-0 despite of what one judge saw one night.

Martinez should stay at MW and defend and against Sturm, Pirog etc. The weight is already high for him. He's already the man to beat at both LMW and MW divisions.

Well his size and length makes for some intruiging match up (Pwill vs floyd/pac/berto??? )...... Plus i just dont see Williams making a noise against the biggest punchers around 154/160. Cintron was landing the same punch that knock him out tonight, and no matter how big a ***** kermit is he's still a big puncher....I dont see williams beating kirkland and pirog. Maybe a Cotto fight, but after tonight he's gonna wanna pick on smaller guys.

I thought there was a sniper in the crowd. Pw looked like he got shot. Martinez beats pw and pavlik in the same year. If floyd want it, his heart can't be questioned. Martinez is making his mark though.

Yeah, I consider him 2-0 with Williams and 48-1-1 in his career (instead of 46-2-2).

Sturm managed to hem and haw his way around encounters with Abraham and Pavlik when they reigned. Something tells me unification with a much more complete (and perhaps equally dangerous) middleweight champion than those two isn't going to top his to-do list.

I would love to see Martinez/Sturm. It could be very, very interesting. I doubt it happens either. It's not really a great deal for either fighter, business-wise, probably. Too bad.

As much of a cuckoo as he is when he's star-struck (as he is with Williams, among others) Steward made a very good point about the big-payday prospects for SGM in the near future. He doesn't have the time or inclination to wait around for another star at middleweight. Floyd and Manny are too small and most likely neither would go for it anyway. HBO might be interested in a unification with Sturm but the likelihood of Felix finding a way to lose safely on points in a dissatisfying contest might give them pause. Chavez might sell, but would be silly. Golovkin wouldn't interest American TV audiences who haven't seen him, nor would N'Dam N'Jikam. They've seen Pirog once (and it would also be unification) but that's really about as good as it gets.

He might have to move up and challenge someone at 168. Bute and/or the Super Six winner could be his only real chances to keep the momentum (and cashflow) going.

I realize that the Reyes gloves are the "punchers glove" of choice, but regardless of gloves, Williams would have been ko'd either way. It was bound to happen with his style of fighting and weight jumping.

    C'mon, Pretty.

    You smarter than that.

It's pretty obvious Martinez must be ON somethin...

PEDs or A-side Meth or some **** like that.

A feather-fisted former welterwt with a KO percentage of 49 % moves up to Middleweight and drops the iron-chinned punisher like he was assassinated ?

PW had never been stopped ?

What kinda **** they tryin to feed us here ?

Maybe that **** don't stink in Lutherville, but round here, we know what's goin' down.

Yeah, it all had the look of bad choreography. :yep

Williams must have attended the same Lee Strasberg method seminar as Cintron.

    Farce!
