**** no, he wouldn't. That fight was only for people who like seeing a massacre. Pavlik would have been the first man to emphatically stop Williams if that fight had come off. I've said it since rumbling even began about that potential match-up.
The Martinez fight was a **** performance by Pavlik, but even that version of KP stops Williams in 7 rounds. He stops Pdub in 5 or less on a good night. Unfortunately, his "good" nights are probably all behind him. I'm about as far from a Martinez fan as you can get, but back to back wins over Pavlik and Williams is pretty damned impressive in my book.
The first half of the Margarito fight is the only time I ever saw Paul fight smart, using those advantages.
hmm says . . . holy **** . . . I was hoping Martinez would win . . . I didn't see the fight yet but GAWD DAMN!
I like a good knockout as much as the next guy, but damn I was scared for Williams seeing him go down like that. I thought Sergio might've literally killed him for a minute. I hope Paul's alright.
Martinez knew he had to knock Williams out or he would get cheated once again, and it looked like the commentators were setting the stage for such. Martinez won the first fight also, and without time to train.
Was kind of a little scary. Paul seems alright, but don't really like these types of threads. I guess cause I like Paul. A little sad. I didn't feel the same for Hatton (Although was naturally worried as well).
