Thanks for all the info, but I am still a little confused. I want to put on a good, healthy weight as a boxer (OK, so I'm never going to fight pro or amateur - I would do Masters but I don't think they have it here in New Zealand.) I just want to train as a boxer - because I want to be fit and , just quietly, I want to intimidate the **** out of my wife's ex-husband if I'm honest. He's 6'4" and a fat, unhealthy 120kg approx. In other words, I want to kick the sand in that ****er's face instead of the other way around. I am 6'2" and weigh 67.9 kg and, what the hell, I would like to be a heavyweight - what's that 94kg and above? I don't want a bodybuliders physique - I just want to be as big as I can heathily and realistically aim for. I used to box when I was younger (much younger) and just want to be the best I can be and as big as I can be.
    Suggestions?

steroids, because if you were serious you would already be in the gym smashing weights telling us about it. I dont think you have the work ethic to do this naturally and if you want to intimidate your wifes ex now, steroids is your only chance.
You would have to be in the gym 6 days a weak for the next 4 years to put on the muscle you want. Sounds like you want to do it but you dont like the hard work that comes with it.

Lift hard, eat lots and sleep well.

Try to put in cardio in your weeks, will give you a defined physique.

And set your own goals, but lets be realistic.. 20lbs of healthy muscle might take you two years to accomplish. 20lbs of MUSCLE probably won't be achieveable in the forseeable future, but don't let it get you down. You'll see a massive change with only 10lbs of decent weight.

Bear in mind, if you actually choose to do steroids, make sure you do a **** ton of research.

Pretty much everyone here doesn't know **** about them, tbh I know more than average and I still don't know **** all.

Doing anything involving chemical assistance from advice gained here is unwise and unsafe. Tbh most guys on this forum don't really know what they're talking about when it comes to weights, but you have had the benefit of a few guys in this thread who do have some knowledge.

Your best bet by far is to go to a bodybuilding forum. Seriously. You can still do boxing training, but bear in mind that gaining mass and boxing are two conflicting goals. Boxing burns alot of calories that a bodybuilder or powerlifter would rather use for building muscle or gaining strength respectively.

You are the one that keeps going on about bodyweight squats not me... Using 60-80% of your 1RM is sufficient for hypertrophy.

The point is he does high volume traning for his legs whether he's on steroids or not. Legs hypertrophy more from higher reps. Search for it, it's a fact.

Supersets are nothing special. And 15 reps builds muscle, that's my point. Simple as that.

Fair point Sprawla. I can't argue with that. I better shut up and do something rather than talking about it.

im pretty sure any sort of training on steroids is going to build muscle.

you must not know how to train properly with supersets if you think they are not useful.
you sound like a novice you got no idea what the **** you are talking about, just quit now before you make yourself look anymore stupid

you produced a picture of some guy who has been abusing steroids and your try to tell us high rep low weights are the result of those legs. and you are trying to tell us he got those legs just from squats. bahaha you got no idea pal

    get real

for someone on steroids what ever weight they lift is going to build massive muscle, the reason he does high rep is to build lean muscle, more muscle definition.

for someone natural. they will have to lift heavy and lots of reps and sets to built muscle. Heavy and low rep is for strength only.

Sprawla you have no idea what you are talking about!!

    Build leaner muscle!!! lol

Many routines aimed at helping people gain weight has heavy weight and low reps. (Starting strength is one example)

Sprawla you have no idea what you are talking about!!

you dont even need to do weights on steroids and you put on muscle. So any sort of ifting is going to build muscle quickly.

by the sound of things you are clueless pal. high reps build definition (lean muscle)

show us some proof and results of these heavy weight, low rep , low set routines that build more muscle then heavy weights and max rep sets.

    oh.. btw hi virus... bahaha

first post is attacking me using the same response i used at virus. bahahah

Definition or lean muscle as you like to call it :rofl(all muscle is lean!!!!!) is a result of low body fat not a result of how many reps you do.

Again google starting strength. Its a well know routine.

Gaining weight has more to do with what you eat then how you train. You can gain weight on low or high reps as long as you continue to increase the weight and eat more.

As for you thinking just taking steroids you will gain massive muscles....... well it just shows how little you know. You still have to train and eat a lot.
