I say rematch w/Margarito would be interesting but finishing what they started with Cintron would be a good comeback fight too. Cintron/Williams would give a better pic of where they both stand right now. Finally, maybe even a CQ/Williams rubbermatch would be fair and could be a good confidence booster 4 PW after the brutal K0 he sufferd tonight. Quintana sparred with Paul in prep for this fight and stated he knows how to beat Williams (again)...... ohhhhhhhh, and I almost forgot to put Pavlik in the mix.... maybe that fight could happen now if Pav is willing to stay @160. What u guys think?

After a brutal KO like that he needs two tune ups in a row or a long vacation before he even starts thinking about future fights.

I think he needs to go back to the gym and work on his defence. Let him recover from this, get him back in training and look to re-build his confidence before stepping him back up in class again. Some fighters have the tendency to be written off when they lose, especially by KO, but Williams is still a very good fighter and can feature in some big fights going forward.

I think paul needs to look at the fight last night and finally decide what weight and direction he wants to go in.

I thought he looked dreadful eating those straight lefts, tighten up his defence and win titles 154

He arguably lost his first site with Martinez, was losing to Cintron before the craziness, and now brutally kayoed.

6 month rest + 1 year with easy fights at 154 while he works on his defense with a new trainer.

If he goes for Cintron it could be a mistake.A puncher like that will fancy his chances now.I think a low risk fight after a lay off in which they work on defence would be better. If he did fight someone in the top 10 and got a good win it would be great for his confidence but the chances of another bad defeat are high because the top fighters wont be anywhere near as afraid of him now and will take chances they would not have before to get to his chin.

Definitly needs time off-the psycological effect of a KO of this magnitud could be haunting him forever, could even **** his career,he will need his confidence back.PW has been decreasing the quality of his performances. His fight against Cintron wasnt going the expecting way before the big frog jumped out of the ring.I hate seen a tall fighter with long arms that doesnt use his jab,its like giving away ur best weapon. Its like a giving away ur ak-47 to fight with a pistol in an open field.

Some time off, spend time with family and away from ring, then back to the drawing board and work on that defense plus start using the physical gifts, possibly rematch Cintron and settle that debate.

I think he needs a good long lay-off and then someone to teach him how to use his natural physical advantages.

Lot of good fights still available for Paul.

Edit: really should learn to read a thread before posting but looks like most people think the same way.

Another trainer would be good for him I actually think Joe Goosen would be a good choice for him, after that a couple confidence builders as well as adapting to Goosen teaching for a year or so I think he'd turn out good if his minds right, which who knows if it will be after losing like that I wish him the best he's great for boxing but he needs another trainer technique orientated and needs enough time with them for it to marinate before they fight the real threats again.
