Don't get me wrong Williams isn't a bum but that was the same level of cartoon punch that Pacquiao landed on Hatton. Pacquiao dipped to his left and thew an atom bomb, similarly Marquez created an angle on Williams, taking over a second to adjust his feet and almost ripped Paul's ****in head off. A defensively astute pro should not be geting hit with that. I've said Williams was too easy to hit for years although I didn't see that coming..... and guess what.... neither did Williams. Maybe I won't need to read about fanstasy matches between Williams and Hearns anymore
Paul has a decent chin, but an absolutely terrible defence. I knew something like this was coming one day, but I did not think that what happened last night would happen. That was ****ing devastating. I'm gutted for Paul, I hope he recovers well but he really needs different coaches or it's gonna happen again.
Remember Duran got knocked out like a bum aswell. Obviously Paul is no Duran, but their situation is somewhat comparable.
Sergio has under rated power!! People always tend to look at his KO%, but his last few fights are solid proof that he has improved. Kermit "it was a headbut" Cintron Paul "I got countered the whole night" Williams I Kelly "I couldn't double up that ****ing jab, bloody face massacre" Pavlik Paul "KTFO in two" Williams II
It was big shot with a little bit luck so KO is obvious. Paul is ovverrated, i said it before i say it now. He is so big and he doesnt have the ability to control the fight. He should be untouchable with good jab.He wasnt able to hold on distance any of his opponents BTW The heighest turned into the longest
his eyes were open and never blinked when he planted his face on the canvass and thats just scary. thought he was dead..
Knocked out like a bum and being a bum are two different things mate. A superb professional could set up and devastate a novice pro wit a single shot because he is so far advanced. Martinez set Williams up like he was a bum, that's how poor the Williams defence is.
Luck? This boggles the mind. He was landing that on the first round and early on in the second round...it wasn't luck, he knew what he was doing. Luck? ...Yawn!
No comparison. Duran was devastated from the previous round and hadn't recovered. Martinez set that shot up out of nowhere and was allowed to create an angle that shouldnt even exist. Plus Hearns had every physical advantage possible over Duran where as this fight had the exact opposite.
Luck? Watch Martinez feet before the knockout. He knew exactly what he was doing. You must be ****in kidding?
Actually both fighters opened up with the left, Sergio just timed it perfectly, but still took a major risk putting full force behind it and letting fly. The reason for the success is because he was preparing for this very shot ever since the 1st fight ended, it was Tarver-Jones all over again.
Perfectly timed counterleft hand, he landed it time and again in the first fight, this time he really got Paul from a blind spot and jarred his brain big time.
