Too much to ask for Williams after such a vicious KO. Also, he should go down to 154 and Pavlik should go up to 168. The fight should've happened last year, it just doesn't sound very good right now.

Williams career is far from over... Pavlik is a bum whos greatest wins was against Jermain Taylor 3 yrs ago who also got a bunch of gift decisions.

The magic of the fight has been lost, shame that the fans missed out on that one.

Good idea but whoever loses is done! I dont think either will agree to it. They probably want to take a relatively easy next fight to see how they do, especially P dub cos once you get KTFO it can happen again and plus people will be looking for it all the time!

Williams should take an (ralatively) easy comeback fight after a couple of months, don't rush that guy into anything right now.
Take some time off, then start training again and take on some higher level journeyman or an easy gatekeeper type opponent.

A fight with a higher class opponent could ruin his career right now, because they don't fear him as much and may wack him.

if kelly pavlik can get his mind right, get his **** together and regain some form and make 160 the way he was when he was on a roll....none of which i'm confident in right now...it would be an awesome war that williams would lose. you can't stand there and trade w/ kelly. kelly would take his licks for sure but no way in hell williams can eat that right hand all night. he'd turn williams lights out.

Pavlic will KO him. I stated this before the fight yesterday. It's bat match up for Williams. He is there to be hit all the time and Pavlic hits very hard. Pavlic can take Williams shots the other way it is not the case. Sooner or latter a big right will finish it

Martinez threw a wild, but extremely fast left hand that PDub did not see coming. He caught Paul flush on the chin and took him out early because "speed kills," and Williams has poor defense and an even lower ring IQ than Jermain Taylor.

Pavlik does not fight that way, and never has. At his best he can be pretty tricky with his left hand. Other than that, almost everything Kelly does is orthodox and methodical.

Pavlik is bigger, stronger, and WAY smarter than Williams. Kelly also has a very good chin and hits WAY harder than anyone PW ever fought.

Williams would end up taking a sustained beating over the course of 5-7 rounds before Pavlik closed the show. A sustained beating on the heels of a brutal knockout would probably ruin PDub.

Pavlik may be a lot of things but the guy hits hard, it would be wise for Williams to take a couple tune ups after that brutal KO.

The Pavlik who beat Jermaine Taylor in their first fight may have been capable of this, but that Pavlik is long gone and in his place is either a shot fighter or alcoholic who would most likely lose to Williams and certainly would not knock him out at Middleweight.

Pavlik will never be a force again at Middleweight, or at any weight really.

No. Both need to regain their stock, and as much as this fight would help they won't do it for $500k each - not even $1M each.
