Enter in: "Wlad could be a thousand pounds bigger than Pacquiao. He's much slower and was damaged goods after his three knockout losses. He was never that great of a heavyweight. This victory was meaningless."

...Wait, you didn't say he had to beat Wladimir. ...Ach, doesn't matter.

I dont know, for some people here he'd probably have to KO Wlad quicker than Corrie Sanders did to even be worthy of carrying the jockstrap Duran wore when he beat that ATG Iran Barkley.

So he kayos him faster than that fat, washed up, part-time golfer who was damaged goods himself after his own knockout losses and never very good anyway? What good will that do him? Duran beat Moore who beat Benitez...Duran was shot, Moore and Benitez had both been in their primes. You do the math.

I'm not saying Pacquaio is better but he was consistant for longer period of time, more disciplined, and the size he is giving up now is similar to what Duran was giving up against Barkley and these opponents are at least on par with Barkley. And before we get on to the subject of draining lets not forget Barkley was drained at 160 himself

I think that in particular is quite fair. I think I was going to say something similar when I got here but I got distracted and started bullshitting instead like I ordinarily do on here. I love this place, by the way. More than Brick loves lamp, friends. More than Brick loves lamp.

What's all this talk about Clottey giving Duran a tough fight? Tough as in what? At welter? That high guard is going to be a nightmare for Duran I agree, oh and the way he creates angles with his circular movement for powerful hooks and combos, i see it now.

    WTF

Hes the Duran (minus the defense) of his era, thats a better way of describing him.

Clottey at his best is better than his last 2 fights and I thought he beat Cotto. As a boxer he has the defense, skill and speed to trouble Duran. He's now officially 33 though, but Ghanian sporting stars usually lie about their age to give themselves better chances in the West so he might be 40 for all we know

You know I respect your opinion a lot PP, I strongly disagree with you though. When we're saying trouble him, do you mean as in he may win? Or trouble him as in every fighter is in trouble because boxing is boxing and things happen?

You know I don't think he would win because he's a choker and I'm not sure he likes engaging. But stylistically he isn't a million miles away from Benitez (no I'm not saying he's nearly as good). Very good jab, very tight defense and defensive footwork, fast left hook and right. He looked $1million against Corrales (who was maybe shot and too high up in weight). Against Margarito he made Marg look silly early before injuring his left hand but really he should have just sucked it up and punched through it. He could have won the rematch imo

So I'd say on the cards it maybe a little close especially in the early rounds, but yea I don't think Clottey wins.

Sounds about right. Pac doesn't have Duran's defense but he doesn't have his varied arsenal either imo, definitely not on his level of skill on offense, although he is superbly effective with what he does have.
