Is it just me or was it the worst commentating performance in the recent history of HBO, if not boxing as a whole? My god, you have Steward claiming Williams won the first round, that he was fighting perfectly, and that it was a right hand that knocked him out. And in the second round when Martinez is clearly pasting Williams with two identical overhand lefts, the third of which eventually ends him, Kellerman is yammering on about how Williams is now beginning to land clean, hard shots. The **** is going on

Not as bad as their call on Dawson/Johnson 2, that **** was horrendous....but I get what you're saying.

Yeah, it was awful listening to them last night. Steward was talking out of his ass saying Williams was neutralizing Martinez right off the bat, they weren't calling the numerous clean lefts landed by Martinez, and Steward called it a right hand that knocked Williams out (who apparently was fighting the perfect fight).

Cringeworthy. Give me Roy Jones over Emmanuel any day of the week.

Simply pathetic. Now I'm pretty sure HBO has in their contract that they have to support the network guy, though Manny simply looked blinded by personal bias. The whole thing was very wrong around the true good guy Martinez. The World MW Champion fighting off the challenger's corner (and getting the short money), the ref being in a very awkward position and breaking them up even duing inside fighting, giving a full 10 count when he should've taken out the mouthpiece, the completly pathetic commentators, and then in the end, these idiots at HBO showing Williams how he got KTFO.

I'm glad I streamed it. I wish everyone of the HBO commentators would die....except Larry Merchant

Don't look no further than last week.
They did EVERYthing in their power to bash Margarito, Including saying over & over how much he weighed in, His Goatee, The mixture/slash drink, Showing his wife while Margarito was suffering for a fractured eye socket ect...

& then came last night, Where they did it again, While Martinez was coming into the ring saying "Oh, Martinez is a late bloomer"... ect) Meaning that anyone who beat him previously, we should just forget about it...lol

Did they show Martinez/Williams day of weight?
Did they make a big deal out of Williams Goatee?

    The Answer: NO

I was equally amused last week about how Max tried selling Floyd on the idea Pac may be slowing down... i mean it was completely laughable and transparent as to what he and Lampley were doing... I know alot of people don't give Floyd much credit but even my 8 year old daughter could see through Kellerman's ploy.

They need to hire Malignaggi. As a commentator, he'll tell it like it is, like Howard Cossell.:D

It is a farce. Jim Lampley is the most biased boxing commentator I have ever seen. You know within the first two minutes of the broadcast who he wants to win. He did it when Margarito fought Cotto then again when Margarito fought Pacquiao, and then again last night where Kellerman and Steward jumped on the bandwagon with him.

Their commentating has been getting progressively worse. The bias sometimes is so stifling that you can barely listen. It's because there is no objective voice on the panel. No Roy Jones Jr., no Bernard Hopkins, no Paulie Malignaggi, no Mike Tyson, etc.. That's what they really need.

The only way , we as fans, can
change anything is with our money $$$. And it is all rather simple. BOYCOTT.
If we boycott something then they will change it.
    Dont buy the PPV
    Dont subscribe to their channel.

    Think about it.
Even is as little as 1 million fans did this
    1 MIL X $15 bucks (subscription fee)
    1 MIL x $50 bucks (PPV fee)

    $65 million they just loss.
And that is just for 1 month!

Foreman was the best HBO commentator.
I also liked Alan Green on ESPN. Way better commentator than boxer it seems. Forrest on ESPN was great. Called out Mosely PED use when no one else would touch the subject.
