P4P#2 Sergio Martinez would like to challenge P4P#1 Manny Pacquiao for the ultimate pound-for-pound showdown and the WBC LMW title PacMan picked up after Maravilla vacated it.

"If Manny is willing to defend his WBC super welterweight title, I would come down to 154 pounds to challenge him for it as well as allow him to challenge me for my WBC middleweight title. It would be the opportunity of a lifetime."

Always respectful, Maravilla added: "But I'm a realist and if he feels that he is physically too small to fight me I certainly understand that too."

If the fight comes off between the current and former LMW champ, who would you pick to win?

I think Martinez having hard time to go down on 154. So this fight won't happen, unless roach will not demand for any catchweight.

    Pacquiao on points.

As much as I like Martinez, and I've been a fan for a few years, he isn't close to being good enough to beat Pacquiao. The person to beat Pacquiao will either be as good, which Martinez isn't, or have an advantage that Pacquiao can't deal with. While Martinez does have a good size advantage, he isn't the type of fighter who uses that advantage, so it's pretty much irrelevant. He only rehydrated to 168lbs, which is three more than Margarito, but Margarito is a guy who does use his size advantage.

Pacquiao's foot movement would keep Martinez from finding his rhythm and Pacquiao would throw his combinations all night, on route to a clear points decision.

i dont wanna see this fight, Mayweather-Martinez is the fight to make. Martinez is now a real Middleweight and another jump in weight is unnecessary for the Pacman, theres plenty of great match ups for Pac at his natural weight.

Martinez-Mayweather would be closer to both of there wights and makes WAYY more sense. but I highly doubt Mayweather wants Martinez after last night.

Martinez weighed 168 on fight night. Pacman weighed 148. That's a 20 lb difference. That's too much when you consider how good Martinez is. This isn't a slow plodder like Margarito. So based on that alone, i would have to say Martinez KO late.

Don't doubt it'd be interesting, but I'm going to say Martinez would win this at 154. It's just a step too far for Manny imo. Martinez isn't just a champion, he's an incredible specimen of a p4p contender who's name quite rightfully so is now being mentioned along with May/Pac.

People say he'd have trouble cutting weight which whilst might be correct, I reckon Pac would have more trouble making the weight. He weighed in at 144.6 against Marg because he could get away with it, Martinez would come in at exactly 154 and then rehydrate to 165 ish? Not entirely sure what Pac weighed in on fight night against Marg at but I doubt he'd have been too keen to pile on the lb's, what with him intentionally coming in 6 under.

As much as I like Manny, he'll get KO at 154.

Martinez is like a Sam Soliman with power, and that only works against people who don't much care if they get hit or not. I'm going with Pac, who can show a damn good defense when he wants to. I'm also betting that if Gayweather doesn't step up to the plate, this is going to be our next superfight. Pac isn't afraid to try it.

Sergio...and rather easily. This fight is competitive in the P4P sense...but, not in reality.

    Martinez KO 7 at 154.

If Martinez was silly enough to accept say $15million to boil down to 147, then I would pic Pac, but at 154, it is an easy fight for Martinez.

    Agreed.

I also think it would be silly, but typical of team Pacman to ask Martinez to ask for a catchweight below 154. Pac will put up a good fight, and lose in the end.

If Pac will not show his bravado by standing in front of his opponent with gloves on his face or try to make it more exciting by letting himself get punched in the body and uppercuts, he will have a chance.
