Floyd was the cash cow when he forced JMM to fight at a totally unsuitable weight. Oscar was the dumbarse who made himself fight at an unsuitable weight because he didn't think the public would buy a fight between himself and a guy who had only had one fight above 130, if the fight was made at 154. That is the difference between Floyd and Pac in those respective fights. Floyd had control, Pac did not. You should be certain that Oscar controlled everything at the time, so why would he be so stupid and inflict that on himself as it wasn't ever publicised and by then anyone who was going to buy the fight would have done so. So no sales could be lost because people would be thinking a rehydrated Oscar up to 160 vs Pac was a mismatch. I did say that the Clottey fight was a filler because Floyd chickened out, I also disputed the notion that Clottey didn't deserve to be in the same ring as Pac based on Clottey's previous performances. Just because Holyfield does a once off, doesn't mean that the whole system is going to or must change because 13 years later Floyd's daddy has convinced him that Pac is a roided up boogey man. What OSDT happened with Martinez and Williams this weekend? Is Martinez now under a cloud? What about every other fight that happens for the next xxxx many years? I don't think you understand the arguments well enough to be determining whether there has been any hypocrisy or not.
ty bballchump. sorry didn't mean to make it like that. boxing - we are all here for the same reason. 1 luv
Yep agreed Oscar was a dumbass but *******s wanna discount that FACT and run around and claim that it was a great victory by Manny meh! Why would Oscar be stupid enough to inflict a rehydration clause? See my first point he was stupid enough to agree to the weight in the first instance, whats one more stupid decision? Agreed floyd did have control but the outcome were the same two mismatch fights but the fans reaction is very different! - This is my point!!! Mate none of Clotteys performances warranted him being in the ring with Pac his best two performances were both losing ones! In any case Clottey proved me right when he stunk out the joint with an abysmal performance! Do you really need me to tell you that blood testing is needed in boxing? You are plain stupid if you think otherwise people will ALWAYS cheat and as far as I am concerned I have been tricked too many times by athletes I have supported. There is no excuse for not taking the test! I believe every fighter should be subjected to these tests, look at contador it turns out he could have cheated now I want to know who is winning fairly especially when you see what happens to boxers like Gerard Mcclenan and Michael watson I think we should respect life enough to ensure there is no dodgy hand wraps or enhancement drugs whatsoever! I dont think Martinez or Williams are cheats as they are just abiding by the rules given to them but if someone asks them for a test and they refuse then THAT right there makes me suspecious! The owness is on the athlete to prove themself INNOCENT! Thats why we have testing!
Most people now understand that Oscar was shot. You know that the reason Oscar agreed to 147 was because that was the maximum weight he could be and have the public not think it was going to be a mismatch. Even at 147, many people were critical of Oscar for picking on a midget and making him come up so much in weight. So the 147 limit was about maximising PPV and ticket sales. A rehydration clause makes no sense as all the PPV and ticket sales are done before the unofficial weights on the night of the fight are released. Oscar had nothing to gain with a rehydration clause, yet he knew if the fight was set at 154, not enough people would pay to see it, even though Pac would have still starched him. The fans reaction is very different because of how those mismatches came to be made, that is a point that seems to be eluding you. Clottey only came into the picture because Floyd chickened out of what should have been their superfight. Did you purposely ignore what I wrote about their being no ped that Pac could benefit from and not be detected if he was tested up to 14 days and on the night of the fight? Did you purposely ignore what I wrote about their being no ped that Pac could benefit from and not be detected if he was tested up to 14 days and on the night of the fight? Leaving aside that it is governing bodies not individual fighters who get to determine what testing gets done, Did you purposely ignore what I wrote about their being no ped that Pac could benefit from and not be detected if he was tested up to 14 days and on the night of the fight? Please name the Ped that any fighter could use and benefit from, AND not be detected by OSDT up till 14 days before the fight and immediately after the fight? When you can't, it should sink into your thick skull that Floyd refused the Pac camp's compromise because he was scared.
LOL man you are so dumb how on earth would I know what PEDs cannot be detected 14 days out when WADA said themself that even they dont know what the latest drugs are and they are always playing catch up and relying on informants and finding anomilies in the results! Wada have said that testing needs to be fully random, so thats good enough for me! Pac man was asked to take the test and he refused! Automatic alarm bells start ringing! Need I remind you that Shane was tested and past when he was CLEARLY taking drugs! Oh but that doesn't matter does it, cos Pac is your boy and he can do no worng! LOL @ PBF being scared you need to learn something about boxers! Was Tyson scared of Holyfield too? huh? Keep living in Pacland....atsch When you want an adult objective discussion about the situation let me know but if your going to parrot sh!t without engaging your brain its best you skip my posts!
I suspect that one day paramedics will arrive at your door to revive you from a drowning incident and it will be Floyd's semen that you cough up out of your lungs. You are so stupid, you think there is some magical Ped that can be taken for only two weeks AND then not be detected on Fight Night, that will be so beneficial to Pac, that Floyd's cowardice is justified. Floyd obviously knows just how stupid his fans are, so keeps coming up with the lamest of excuses and reasons for avoiding Pac, knowing that his ***** army are incapable of independent thought, thus they will never see through his bull****.
So if Martinez loses his next fight he goes back down to what number, his victory against Paul was impressive but Paul was looking to get KO sooner or later with all the punches he takes each and every fight his defense is no better than Margo. He never turns his punches over to produce power ,he slaps with his punches ,he's just a high volume This content is protected .You cannot continue to take punches and survive in this sport very long.
Floyd hasn't been inactive. He's had fights with Josie Harris and most recently a security guard. Get out of here with that inactivity bs! :bart
If you think the Floyd Marquez fight was anything but a glorified tune up fight to try and gain Floyd a placing in P4P top 10 again your silly, I wouldnt really pay much attention if Floyd had beaten Marquez at 140lbs let alone a catcweight that he failed to make. Stupid, pointless matchup, i pity anyone who rates that highly.
Long story short, Floyd gets by on the merit of past achievements, it should have been him beating Williams not Martinez, it should have been him moving up in weight to take on the perils and dangers of a harder challenge. Instead he has been happy to make his money and cash in on past achievements, i would say we the fans have been robbed of many a great night, but i think the biggest loser in this is Floyd because he could've been one of the Greatest.
