Wrong thread. And clearly a casual fan. Tyson hasnt boxed in years and is way too big for Pac. LOL. Comedy Gold.
Paper champ? ****....trolls are out hunting this morning....atsch Or if you think you aren't some troll (you are) explain why it's a paper title. Don't worry, I don't expect a rational response, so fee free to post your usual drivel...
Winning a belt via a lucky shot when he was down on the cards and getting outlanded. Yeah I'd say hes a paper champ.
Down on the cards? Man, it was the second round - and Lederman had given the first round to Martinez anyway.
Wow...if THAT is your definition of a paper champ, you just advertised how ****in clueless you are. BTW dumb****, he beat Pavlik for the belt, not Williams. See, trolls like you aren't that bright. Too easy to bust your bubble...
lol... No point in even taking you seriously. Kind of feel sorry for people as thick as you. Btw, i think you should get to bed. Remember you need to be up early to serve breakfast at McDonalds
Shouldn't you be away running 6 miles in 30 minutes, working towards the SAS career you've been head-hunted for from a young age, and spending that £1 million you have across your betting accounts? By the way, I'm still waiting for your name so I can see these running times that you claim are up on the internet. This is the 6th or 7th time I've asked and you have avoided it everytime.
Swift change of subject as poster above did not understand what 'tv' stood for. Keep warm this winter you will prosper in the spring.
I don't always agree with his scoring, but the first round was close - even though I gave it to Williiams. On the other hand, I can't really say that he's an HBO robot. His little tiffs with Emanuel Steward, Jim Lampley and especially Larry Merchant regarding what 'clean, effective punching' means are amusing.
How does he have awful technique? Because he fights with his hands down in a relaxed style? Defensively he has technical flaws of course and relies on his foot-speed and reflexes. But how does he have 'awful technique' offensively? The guy is anything but text-book, yes. But that is besides the point. He has great timing that allows him to counter with ease at times [he sure countered the **** out of your boy Pavlik, and Williams in the first fight] and lands crisp, well-thrown lead straight lefts and lead right-hooks. The punches he felled Cintron and Williams with were thrown with anything but 'awful technique'. Great timing, straight lead shots with all his power behind them that he turned over at just the right time.
No such thing as a lucky punch. P Williams got hit several times with that same shot up until the KO. Let the guy learn some defense and stop coming in so wide open all the time. He was just asking to get KTFO!
I rewatched the fight just now. Martinez threw that lead overhand left 9 times throughout the course of the fight. It landed 8 times to Williams' head, for an 89% connect rate. 4 were glancing shots off the side of Williams' head, 3 were solid shots, one in the first round which jarred Williams, and two in the second, and the last was the punch that put Williams' lights out. So, to review: 9 tries, 8 hits, 89% connect percentage, knockout. This punch was lucky how? It's obvious from the start that Williams was wide-open for it, and Maravilla even said as much after the fight.
