He can bank his £32K and enjoy Xmas knowing the New Year offers a lot more than was open to him 24 hours earlier.

There are great precedent's from previous Prizefighter winners to indicate his options ahead.
    • A rematch with Sykes for the British belt
    • Liam Walsh for the Commonwealth belt
    • Stephen Foster for the European Belt
    • A WBO Inter-Continental belt as a short cut to Ricky Burns

love to see a rematch with Sykes for the British title, in fact the board could very well sanction it.

A Sykes rematch for the British title seems the logical step. Its definitely opened up a few doors for him though

Dependent on how Sykes is mentally, a 12 round fight with Sykes would be another challenge all together for Buckland.

I don't think Sykes will want to go near him now, that was a brutal ko. If anything over 12 i think Sykes would be more tentative and we seen from Buckland's fight with Murray that he fights at a fast pace from the 1st bell.

I would imagine the board will order a Sykes fight.

I'd fancy Sykes to outpoint him over 12, Prizefighter really didn't suit Sykes style and played into Bucklands hand IMO.

The Skykes fight could be a few fights away. Skykes has got the John Kays fight in January, and Crolla will be his mandatory. So its a max 6 months away.

I reckon we see a fight with Foster Jnr pretty soon. He is promoted by the Hattons so that or Crolla is an easy fight to make.

Buckland how shown he can do the 12 round distance at higher weights so I doubt he will struggle against a light hitting opponent, Sykes has great workrate though.

Depends on how much power Buckland can develop in the later rounds, but he seems to have found a real proper weight for him to settle.

Wish him luck, comes to fight and no quitter.

You've got to wonder how the knockout will have affected Sykes mentally. I think it's definitely feasible that he will be a lot more tentative, at least in his next fight. I would still pick him to beat Buckland in a rematch, but as Rob has said, Sykes has other obligations.

For the time being, I would love to see Buckland against Morris.

Sykes will beat Buckland over 12, he got kopped, might do him the world of good, look how Amir Khan picked himself up after that crushing KO by Prescott...:deal
