It's funny that people automatically assume Floyd could outbox Martinez...

Because how many tall slick boxers has Floyd fought in his entire career?

    0

    That's it.

And you can say he never had the opportunity, but when he fought De La Hoya at 154, Vernon Forrest was the man at that weight.

But he went for the money, which is reasonable and I would have done the same thing, but on this forum, it is only acceptable if Mayweather does it and not Pac.

    Go figure.

But in a fight against Martinez, if Floyd is content to just stand in the middle of the ring and outbox Sergio, who has a bigger reach and probably faster feet and equal handspeed, and plenty of tallent with skills, he is going to lose a decision.

This is not Mosley who just learned how to box when Nazim took over is career, this is a guy that's been boxing at a high level his entire career and has experience and slickness that you can't gain in one fight.

Not to mention the fact that he has now shown that he is a very capable inside fighter capable of delivering rapid combinations with obviously good power to say the least.

He had a very durable and strong middleweight in Kelly Pavlik on he verge of quitting, made Cintron question his career, and knocked Pwill out cold.

There is a reason why people say a good big man beats a good little man, and this is an obvious case where it rings true, especially considering I don't think Floyd would be willing to risk bringing the fight inside Martinez' reach to make an inside fight, where Martinez is more than willing to mix it up.

This is probably the worst fight possible for Floyd, and Pac for that matter, and I know for a fact that Floyd won't take this fight. All he does now is talk.

If Floyd fought Martinez the way he fought Mosley then Floyd would get KTFO..

No one knows but skill wise I dont see anyone who has anywhere the abilities of Mayweather....plus PBF makes adjustments better than anyone.

However power is the leveler and Martinez may be able to knock PBF out! But as for pure boxing I dont know anyone who is more skilled than PBF.

So you think Mayweather would be able to outbox the Hopkins that beat De La Hoya on the outside?

You can't always fight on the outside, especially if your opponent has a longer reach, has skills, and is slick.

And Martinez made some pretty damn good adjustments if you ask me. He made it obviously clear that he added versatility to his game, by the way he dismantled Williams on the inside.

Floyd has never fought a guy that can keep him at range.

Martinez can neutralize Mayweather's speed with his longer reach, just as fast hands, movement, and timing.

Mayweather will have to make an adjustment and be the aggressor in this fight, which is something I don't see him doing.

****, I don't even see him taking this fight. To be honest, I don't even know why I made this tread.

I should have made it in the lounge.

It's no different than people believing Manny would knock out Martinez. Everyone has their own opinions.

Faster feet and equal handspeed?:huh Whatever your smoking must be some good ****. Can I get the number of your supplier?:rasta

No....I think 'Nard is way to big for PBF.

But as for boxing skills I don't think Bernard has the skillset that PBF has.

Hey I think Martinez is a great fighter but Im just saying you are comparing a fighter who is good at ad******g to one who is probably THE best at it!

But when it is all said and done Martinez has all the advantages going up against PBF or Manny because of his size and weight of punch but we all want to see it becuase we know PBF carries up his speed, boxing ability and ring IQ which 'could' see him to the win!

    Nah, you're right.

Martinez style is predicated by standing right in front of his opponent and lunging with slow power shots.

And everyone does have opinions, but that doesn't mean they aren't dumb as a mother ****er.

I don't give a damn who Martinez wants. Mayweather won't ever fight him.

And how am I clutching at straws?

Everything I said is perfectly reasonable.

The person you claim was 'the man' at 154 didn't have a belt and would have been coming off a very shaky decision against win against Ike Quartey.

If you're going to make a hater thread, at least fact check first.

    RIP to The Viper.
