http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,26691,12602_6514639,00.html Worth watching. Interesting reactions and body language from both camps... In my opinion, body language/reactions suggests the Klitschko camp really do want Vitali to fight first and test out Haye .... I would say due to risks around Wladimir chin/exposure when rattled....plus the fact Vitali isnt getting any younger!
- I think Adam Booth wants Wladimir first because he knows the younger brother is rattled, won't be to handle Haye' power, and Haye has the athleticism to get in there and get out without being tagged. - At the moment, I'm very skeptical whether Haye beats Vitali - something about Vitali that is very strong and insurmountable. - The Klitschko management would do wise to send Vitali in first - because Wladimir aint winning against Haye.
I don't see it that way. Wladimir is faster, and hits harder than Vitali. Wladimir can hurt Haye with a jab. A lot of people keep going on and on about Wlad's chin, and use it as their main point as to why Haye would win. However, Wladimir hasn't been down since 2005, against a 240lb Peter. And guess what? He got up and won the fight. Wladimir has also never been knocked out clean, he just looked in "panic mode". I believe Steward has calmed him down. In addition to calming him down, Wladimir has GREATLY improved over the last several years with Steward as trainer. Seems to me that those picking Haye to win believe Wladimir will be cleanly KO'd by a 211lb fighter, something that several bigger, and just as hard hitting heavyweights couldn't do to a version of Wladimir that's not as good as the current version. Does that make sense to anyone? It sure doesn't to me. Let's say for the sake of argument that Wlad-Haye happens, and Haye knocks Wladimir down during their fight (I don't see that happening myself). Wladimir is going to get up and Steward has trained him how to respond in these situations. He'll get up just as he did against Peter and put a beating on Haye. Wladimir by KO. Vitali by KO or lopsided decision.
..............because he's the one that is not avialable. :good Booth comes across as an inadequate and unqualified *manager*, and I use that term loosely.
Boothe is playing games as usual, Vitali is free to fight, Wlad isn't. Boothe and Haye have said before that they wanted Vitali first, it makes sense to fight Vitali before he retires and if (and that's a big if) Haye beats him, he can then fight Wlad for all the belts. Boente clearly stated that both Klitschkos want to fight Haye. Who was the first Klitschko brother to sign a fight with Haye? That's right, it was Wlad. He was not worried about Haye beating him then and he's not worried about it now. As for body language, Boothe looked very uncomfortable during that interview, he was clutching at straws and was made to look completely unprofessional. Note the overdone facial expressions when Boente shot down all his arguments about mandatories and tv money.
- The thing is Haye' power is not ordinary - it's devastating. - Recall the Valuev final round - when did you last see that guy with wobbly legs like that - and with Haye' left hand - [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SISRW7_XS0[/ame] - check out 2:46 of this upload.
I saw the fight. Sure, Haye hits hard...but I don't think he would be the hardest puncher Wladimir has faced. Wladimir is not getting knocked out, and if Haye can't knock him out, he can't win.
Boothe is precious, ain't he? I wonder where Haye found this guy, working at some carnival? But, I guess they have to say something to keep Haye's fanbase from realizing they have next to no confidence in their fighter's ability to beat K Brother...................after mouthing them for two years.
Haye does have sleep inducing punching power as the above suggested. If he can hurt Wlad and able to get in close Haye will throw everything with power to take him out. Haye is a good finisher, its how he gets into Wlad on the inside, work off the jab, which he will work to the mid-rift or attempt it looking for a gap to fire that right hand up the middle. If he can connect it early it may be key.
- But Haye can finish fights off when he smells blood. Just did it to Harrison, annihilated 'tough man' John Ruiz, wooped Monte Barrett, Mormeck - the same as the above. - If Haye wobbles Wladimir' legs - not too sure whether the younger brother will be able to panick his way out of trouble when in the ring with David Haye - who usually tends to finish off well.
