You gotta look at the condition of the opposition at the time of the fight. Barrett that Haye fought was shot and had a losing record over the few years coming into the fight. Ruiz was semi-retired without having fought for 2 years. Valuev was struggling with injuries coming off 1 year layoff.

Vitali and Wlad fought much better opposition. Arreola, Chagaev, Ibragimov, Johnson were undefeated coming into the fights. Peter hasn't lost to anyone except to Wlad and Vitali.

Arreola had commercial backing, he hadnt fought anyone of note though> leading to the fight and has since lost to Adamek.

Johnson hasnt fought one top 20 fighter and still hasnt. In fact bar Peter Vital hasnt taken on anything to the level of Valuev or Ruiz.

sultan ibragimov, chagaev, tony thompson, peter from first wlad fight, chris byrd and chambers, are way better then everything vitali beat in his comeback and 1000 times better then everything haye will ever beat... period!
a lot of people are sleeping on ibragimov, byrd and thompson, at the time when wlad beat them there were very good and top 10 opposition in every era!

Ibragimov and Chagaev are the two biggest *scalps* on any of the three lists, and by quite a margin.

And they are both on Wlad's list.

How was the complacent 250lb version of Peter that Vitali fought better than the more interested, more committed 240lb [in shape] version that Wlad fought the 2nd time? He'd rebuilt himself by then, got back down in shape and actually looked committed.
