Don't be fooled by the article. This was written during the summer before Floyd said that

Why is this old article relevant? And what is the "Examiner"?

Thre's definitely money in it now. Martinez is now accomplished, well known and liked, and people want to see Floyd in real fights, so they'll pay to see this.

Floyd's formula is taking the absolute least dangerous fight to make the most money.
Only a fighter that can make him bend not break is how he picks. They can't have speed, power and youth in one body. he has to have an advantage so he can still throw few punches and outbox them.

Once he could not stop the pressure from Castillo in the first fight and came out with a gift, this extra cautious process began and the cherry picking was carefully done. At his age he fights so infrequently due to waiting for the perfect opponent of his choosing.

It will backfire he will take a dumb fight & lose and be given the Roy Jones treatment saying he was too past his prime but in his prime he was just so good.

You can't hold that opinion and call yourself a boxing fan. You're a fan of Floyds financial wealth.

I can understand Mayweather not fighting Martinez - that's too much risk for too little money. What I can't understand is why he won't fight Pacquiao. There's PLENTY of money there for a winable fight.

I see your point there, but Floyd has already accomplished greatness as a sport figure of boxing. His resume and opponents speak for itself.

At the dawn of his career, it is not unfair to look for the biggest money fights before he can finally retire. That is the point I want to tell you newbies in this sport. After all, he is not named MONEY for nothing. :good

    Article says june 2010

He probably will say te same thing again. Floyd a talented fighter but he plays the percentages too much. He always did say he doesn't care about legacy. If he doesnt want pac theres an option with sergio. Lets see if he takes it. He will probably go for Khan though.

Is there an article or interview of him saying he will fight the winner of marinez/williams.
