Go check out Benns, Honeyghans, Watts world title fights and start threads whinging about how naughty they were.:deal

When I first started watching boxing in the early 80s a common criticism against British fighters was that they did't know how to fight rough, were too "honest" and kept getting roughed up by the Americans who were well versed in this essential side of boxing. Seems like people want the "good old days" back when the Brit fighters stood for getting punched in the balls and did nothing about it?

Theres always been a double standard on here when judging British fighters and refs. Theres murder when some little infraction happens in a British ring but when Cotto bodyslammed Clottey to the floor and the ref did nothing nobody batted an eyelid in the RbR thread. If that incident had of happened on a Frank Warren card there'd be post after post screaming "corruption".

I honestly wasn't too worried about the facts, I just wanted to slander Hatton and Parris.

Crooked. Paid off. Terrible stoppages. Bottlers. Easily influenced.

Was it Parris who did Rogan-Sexton 1? That was bad!

Hatton Tszyu was terrible iirc. Hit and hold, hit and hold, low blow, hit and hold, headbut, hit and hold. Tszyu was robbed in that.

Also, check the worst stoppage in recent times of Calslappy and Manfredo

Yep, that was Parris. The only "iffy" things about that fight was Sexton spitting his gumshield out deliberatly when he was in trouble and hitting Rogan after Rogan had stopped fighting to let the gumshield be picked up.

Even that was only a) bad sportsmanship from Sexton b) naivety from Rogan, there wasn't a lot that Parris did wrong in that fight.

that was terry o'connor who stopped that fight not dave parris. i thought o'connor was worse. the fat **** always stops fights way too early. calslappy v manfredo, thaxton v murray, khan v earl to name a few.

    Really?

Earl needed saving from himself imho. Though a warrior, he was surely not in a position to defend himself and destined for further unnecessary punishment..

And Manfredo Calzaghe was a total mis-match.
