Which Jack Sharkey are you talking about. The tempermental ,moody
Jack Sharkey, or the prime Jack Sharkey ? Well, the Sharkey who beat
Harry Wills, George Godfrey, kod Jack Delaney,Tommy loughran, and gave
Jack Dempsey hell, would have define tly beat the prime Archie Moore, who was a light heavyweight..No lighgtheavy beats a prime Sharkey,as Jack Delaney ko1- Tommy Loughran ko3, proved...Jack sharkey didn't need
    steroids, he needed Prozac....

Well, Moore himself has a very impressive record at hw, certainly good enough for Top30. So, he wasn´t just a lhw. And he wouldn´t be a smaller man like Delaney and Loughran were.

B, I asumed you meant both in thgeir primes..Archie Moore was born in 1913, and he starte to gain weight [aging] when he started to tackle
the big boys in 1953..So he was about 40. Hardly in his prime...

Sharkey at his best had enough to beat Moore. He could box, he could punch, he could adapt himself to just about any type of fight. That Sharkey is a handfull for prety much anyone.

Having said that, this is not an oponent that he can aford to turn up on anything less than his best form against. If he does that he will loose.

Archie Moore was born in 1916. And he didn't gain weight from aging, he gained it after surgery corrected a stomatch condition that was wasting him away. And he was beating top heavies like Sheppard and Bivins as far back as 1947. His prime run was roughly 47-55 when he beat top Heavies and Light Heavies alike, his success was never exclusive to either division at his best.

Moore wins this imo, unless Sharkey dominates from the very start against Archie and has it his own way all the way against the Mongoose, and that's unlikely. Sharkey wasn't reliable enough emotionally, too erratic. Archie's too cute, he'd find a way to find the weakness. Moore by stoppage, imo.

I think Jack Sharkey at his best beats Archie Moore.

sharkey had the atributes to be an ATG but who knows what sharkey would turn up? Archie beat bigger heavyweights than jack but not as good as sharkey. tough call.

I might pick Archie, actually. Sharkey seemed to struggle occasionally due to temperament, I think Moore could discourage him badly.

What about Walker? Moore is probably as big as Sharkey at HW anyway
