The guys 35 year old and had 50 fights.

Admittingly he looks great for his age and has seemed to improved in his 30s, i aint followed him loads so i dont know many wars hes been in (apart from his big fights). He moves good and looks like he is at his peak.

So dyou reckon hes got a couple of years before he retires/gets beat or does a hopkins and boxes well into his 40s:bbb

He relies on athleticism a lot. He's not another Hopkins.

I give him a year or 2 before he calls it a day.

He started at 20 Turned pro at 22..

    He is 35 Now.

He doesn't got a lot of miles...

So I think 2-3 Years maximum...

    4 Fights.

who cares? his claim to fame is beating a weight drained ruined (by BHops) raging alcoholic, getting his ass beat in the first P-Dub fight, and then getting lucky with a wild haymaker that caught Paul cold.

as a massive maravilla fan i think 2 maybe 3 at top form. he himself has said he doesn't have much time left. i would LOVE for him to get a mayweather fight and pull it off it would propel him directly into the history books.

Your obviously quite bitter! As many people thought he deserved a win against Williams the first time round and he schooled Pavlik at middleweight (not light heavy as Bhop did)

    Now stop your bitching! Thanks.

:dead Come on man really? Don't be a hater. If anything P-Will took the most damage from the first fight and now might never be the same. Just because you havn't paid much attention to Martinez untill recent doesn't mean he hasn't been doing ****.:patsch

Calzaghe looked like he could do it for another 5 years when retired at 36, and he had about 25 years in boxing with 24 championship fights as a pro. Martinez only started at 20 and despite 50 fights, he doesn't have much mileage on him. A TKO loss to Margarito that was quickly put behind, a tough fight vs. Richard Williams than was avoided for half a decade, one really tough fight vs. Williams and that's about it. He's a very young 35yo who stays healthy between fights, which is a recipe for longetivity. I think's he's gonna realize soon that with a change in style, he can do if for longer than he previously thought, and we might just saw a preview of things to come on Saturday!

I'd say he fights Mayweather, rematch with Margarito, and 2 fights against super middleweights. So 3 big fights, maybe 4 if he were to fight Chavez in his farewell.

The first fight against Williams was very close, both put a beating on each other. But to be honest, I think Williams received the most punishment. And that shot that put the Punisher to sleep was not wild haymaker, it a shot he was landing and timing. And right when he got the right distance and saw the opening, crack!!!

you are a ****ing idiot sir...first you can somewhat say martinez lost the first one,but its arguably,as far as to say he got his ass beat, its laughable. Also a lucky punch dont exist ,he threw that punch many times, first and second fight..anyways,going back to the point, martines has a t least 6 fights(bets)whether he can fight at same level i dont know...and martinez being the champion,i think people cares, right?

It sucks that he's 35. Wish he would have gotten bigger earlier. I want to see him fight Cotto or Mayweather, but I hear he has a mandatory against Zbik. Oh well, I predict 4 more big name fights for Sergio before he retires.

a few more fights. No much else. I don't think he is everything people think he is, but he is good.
