He last fought in October 2009. He's had a year to rest and if he fights sometime in early 2011, he will have had 18 months off. As everyone knows, he's a great guy and he comes to fight. Isn't it time he comes back and start building himself up for a big fight? He'll have a ton of options in about a year, when the Super 6 will have ended.

    Thoughts?

    No way.

He's a spent force and cannot beat any of the top guys at 168, which is a very, very deep division.

After 3 brutal KO's and a host of questionalble decisions it's time for him to quit.

His health would be at risk if he returned.

It's been awhile since he's been knocked out.

    Think he misses it?

a controversial opinion of mine was i thought he was gonna beat Ward and hoped that fight was gonna come of and it was going to but then Dibella bailed on him and that forced him to withdrawal.

If he came back a beat a can or 2 for confidence i feel like he could still beat some guys out there if not be competitive. he was actually doing alright in the abraham fight and was KO'd with about a minute left in the fight.

Difficult to see anything other pain and heartache for him in the SMW division, he should and in my opinion will stay retired permanently.

Right. Jermain Taylor doesn't need to become Meldrick Taylor.

Jermain had a great career. Nothing to be ashamed about. He should retire and enjoy his millions in good health.

Love poeple saying he "should" retire. Hey, if he wants to fight again, it's up to him, not you. He's 32 so he's still got some years left. I'm not saying he has to fight Ward or Abraham if he comes back. I'm just saying that as a fan, i would like to see him fight again if that's what he wants. He can fight a couple of tune up fights and maybe fight B or C level guys. I wouldn't have a problem with that. And if he's feeling good and has polished his game a bit where he can get a shot at an elite guy, why not?

I agree. The guy can come back making decent money fighting lower level opposition if he wants. And for the love the sport, if he happens to make it to a position where he feels he can fight amongst the top guys again, he can potentially become a force again. He's a great boxer, it's so unfortunate late round KO's in matches he was en route to win had to break his career so soon.

The problem with Jermaine Taylor is either, A) He needs a new trainer, or B) he lost that fire. He became "flat" and one dimensional in the ring. Jab, Jab, cross. Throw in an occasional left hook. I like JT too, but don't want to see him hurt. If he comes back I'll be watching... I suspect he will come back when/if he starts having financial issues...
