I could say the same with Floyd timmy. Floyd fans have been telling Pac to fight A B C D and E fighters but what about Floyd? He hasn't been fighting and that's the only fight that really matters. If Floyd doesn't want to fight Pac, Floyd needs to retire and not hang on to the number 2 p4p without fighting anybody who is not old and legit welterweights.
if floyd won't fight him, yes he can retire now. but i think there are still good fights that can be made (Berto, JMM, Alexander, Bradley)
If Khan KO's Maidana there's going to be a lot of talk about Pacquiao vs. Khan, trouble is they're both trained by the same man.
then say the same thing with floyd...i am not stopping you frankly he should retire (for good) if he doesn't fight pac/sergio or give an young guy a shot but this isn't a thread about floyd, it is about pac. so, instead or trying to deflect the topic, you could discuss it...and the topic is pac.
Everyone wants to see Floyd vs Pac. Pac fans claim Floyd is scared, but no one has proof of this. Rather then Pac fans telling him to retire, why not encourage him to call Floyds bluff and accept the full random test. If Floyd is truly scared, then he would make up something to why this fight still can't be made. I think Pac retiring with out doing everything he can to make this fight happen is a coward way out on his part. Sure we can blame Floyd, but it takes two to tango. Pac still can do something on his part to make it happen and that's taking the full random test.
Maybe because Pac made the outrageous demand of 10mill per pound Floyd was over weight. But none of that matters now. Pac still have a card to play if he really wants this fight. Never mind what Arum thinks or Roach, if Manny really wants this fight, then he know what he must do.:deal
I agree. I don't know why pacfans always attack the pac-threads without first reading objectively. I know timmy has dissed pac before and thus been labeled a hater or ***** but come on. All he's saying is that Pac has done it all and if FLoyd is not an option, Manny can focus on congress and leave boxing. At least for a while, who knows, maybe in 2011 floyd gives a go. I am Filipino btw and as always, you can call me a ******* but can't you see Manny deserves his health after all he's done for the country's boxing image? I strongly do not want him to fight guys who outweigh him by 15-20 lbs on fight night. It only excites the casuals who only care about the bloodlust during the fight and do not even know why Roach and Ali have parkinsons. Anyway, sure he can fight a young lion like Khan, Bradley or Alexander but he's pound for pound number one and it will only add to his legacy if those guys grow up to be stars in the long run. I'd still like to see it though but it won't excite me as the opponent will come as a 6to1 underdog. Floyd is the only one left. Since it ain't happening then let Pac enjoy the fruits of his labor.
I like him as a fighter. He's good for the sport. But, if he wanted the Floyd fight as badly as he claims, he would have agreed to this demand already. It's not that big a deal when compared to the reward. A fight against Floyd is WAY more significant than a fight with Clottey or Margarito (or anybody else he can hope to fight). None of his recent opponents have looked impressive or are relevant figures in the sport, in a historical sense. If he's satisfied with his achievements in boxing, and he feels there are no other challenges out there, etc., he should retire.
