Haye is playing the dumb Brit fans and the naive Brit media and it's all working out perfectly. The media writes what the dumb fans want to hear and the fans happily pay 14.95 quid PPV to see Haye bash up some 40 year old have-beens. What's not to like for Haye and Booth? A perfect world to profit from as their bank accounts grow fatter whiel they they take zero risk fights.
Well you Americans are so thick you voted in this clown TWICE :rofl A picture indeed says a thousand words! http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_RLDtKmSSl2E/SNbHv7gsyhI/AAAAAAAAAak/Vx3HW0jROLg/s400/bush_phone.jpg
Dont hate cos all ur fat american HWs are clowns! **** u and your stars and stripes u thick yank *****!
I didn't think you'd reply. Moron. And, for the record, people moaning about Haye being a trash talker and saying boxing doesn't need it, boxing thrives on t. Johnson, Ali, Tyson, Mayweather - They've all talked ****. Boxing needs characters and Haye is. In fact, there's no need to even mention those guys from the past because Haye is a serious draw because of his talking too.
There's no way that would happen. None. The first point is, there isn't another 700,000 casual boxing fans in Britain. The biggest draw in recent times, by a long way, was Hatton. He managed to do around 1m buys against Mayweather and less against Pacquiao, who were the best fighters in the sport. That's the limit in British boxing. Saying "If Haye did 700,000 against Harrison, he'll do double against Klitschko" is absolutely idiotic. It's impossible. The number of fans who would buy the PPV is around 1m. Even if we say that David Haye, a lesser star than Hatton, and Klitschko, a much, much lesser star than Mayweather did a million buys, which I don't think it would, it would still be 400,000 off what this guy is saying. There's no way this could happen. As much as people don't like to hear it, there are more people who are aware of Harrison in Britain than Klitschko. The fight may not have pleased hardcore fans, but the only time boxing is a huge success, is when the crossover to the mainstream is made and Haye/Harrison did that, partly because Harrison is a name to non-fans too. Klitschko isn't. Outside of the 100,000, absolutely maximum, who are aware of them, nobody else knows who they are.How many people would stump up £15 to see them fight? Very few. The fact is, they add very little to this fight. The only thing they add to the promotional sense, is that both have a belt. If it's Wlad, there will be extra talk that Wlad is the best heavyweight in the world. They don't add much at all. We know what Haye is averaging in recent PPV's and I think it's very unlikely either Klitschko will significantly add to that. But this line here a just laughable: "So logic dictates that Klitschko is entitld to the extra 700,000 sales that he generated."
Jack You are a tool on a par with TerryESB for ******ed blind delusional fanboyism. Go play in the traffic.
Be quiet. It actually annoys me when people say things like that. I don't care if you disagree. If you do disagree, say why and we'll debate it. Wandering into threads saying bull**** like "go play in the traffic" is about as stupid as you get on this forum. There's a whole core of posters who just do that. They go from thread to thread posting their insignificant opinion, like "Mayweather UD" and any time someone disagrees, they get treated with derision because they're no capable enough of actually debating the subject at hand. You cant factually disprove anything I said but because you disagree, you stoop to throwing insults around like a kid. If that's the level you're at, fine, but don't try to get a rise out of me. Like I said, if you actually have a point to make, we can debate it.
First off - I am a UK fight fan from back in the days before Murdoch and Sky tv when 15 million viewers would tune into ITV to watch Benn,Eubank et al . Haye is a disgrace and is making British boxing into a bigger joke than it already is , we always fall for the hype over here - ( Hatton being a good example ) and now because of the proverbial horizontal British heavyweight jokes casual fight fans and the tabloids have latched onto the myth that Haye is the saviour of boxing . Please dont get it twisted - many real fans know exactly what Haye is and are totally turned off by his ducking of legit contenders to fight has beens and never was's - he'll get exposed before he retires then it will be on to the next weak chinned media made hype job.
This is a great question, and one I'd like a comprehensive answer to. Well done to Rushman. @ Jack: I see your point as regards using Hatton-Mayweather as a limit for PPV sales. However, points to note: (1) Hatton-May occured at 5am. Haye-Klitchsko is more likely to be at 11pm. This can contribute to casual fans sales, simply because it's at a more sociable hour. (2) Hatton, while having a huge UK following, is a welterweight. Haye's stake at being undisputed HW champ of the world could surpass this popularity, simply due to him being in the so called 'glamour' division. (3) Can you remind me of the UK PPV price for Hatton-Mayweather? Was it the same (ad******g for December 2007 times of course) that Haye-Klitshcko would charge? Rushman's question needs to be answered with accuracy to have a solid debate on this subject IMO.
Says it all really - I hate david haye because I am british , the tool makes us look like stupid with his fake title defences and media lap dogs on his sack , the sooner he is left twitching for the full ten count the better for real UK fight fans.
