Shane Mosley is living in a fantasy world. He is going to get brutally stopped.

Sadly, it appears another great fighter of this era is going down the same road as Roy Jones Jr and Evander Holyfield - the road of complete and utter delusion.

Just as Jones wanted the Calzaghe fight years after he was shot to ****, and Holyfield is still plodding away in his small hall fights forever in search of another title shot, it seems Shane thinks that at 39 years old and without a good performance in almost 2 years, he can compete with the pound-for-pound number 1.

What is going on in his head, and why isn't Naazim or someone trying to bring him back to reality?

If the Mayweather fight showed us anything, it was that Shane does not possess anywhere near the stamina, speed or strength that he had a decade ago.

He gassed badly after 2 or 3 rounds against Floyd and was then little more than a punching bag - thankfully he avoided getting stopped for the first time in his career purely because Floyd was, as ever, too over-cautious to really go for the jugular, and look for the finish.

How the **** does he think he has any chance of surviving against someone who fights at a higher intensity than Floyd, throws more punches, hits harder, and has the same superb stamina levels???

There comes a point in a great fighter's career where they have went through an entire career without getting KO'd, and you don't want to see all that good work undone by suffering a stoppage once they are well past their best.

Shane fought great fighters and took some beatings without getting stopped, but if he fights Pacquiao it has TKO written all over it.

How is an old, tired, slower Shane going to be able to stop Pacquiao burying him under a blizzard of punches? Quite simply, he isn't.

If this fight is made, I will reluctantly look forward to it simply because I am a Pacquiao fan and it will undoubtedly be another wonderful exhibition of the pound-for-pound king's skills.

But I don't want it. :bbb

It is a boxers right of passage, Nothing new...
Why get angry over it, Shane deserves another shot simply based on his status.

Mosley is dangerous to any fighter in/@ 147/154lbs.

He knows he can't win. Those around him like richarson should let him know that. There looking for a punchers chance. It's all about the money. He didnt win a round against floyd and was poor against mora. What does he think he has to offer against fast punching pac. He just wanted the two big money fights before he bows out the limelight.

You cant compare the Floyd fight with the Pac fight. They are different styles completely. Pac is way easier to hit than Floyd and Floyd doesnt trade either. Im not saying that Mosley will win but he has a good punchers chance.

I don't buy that "Mosley gassed" excuse. He was getting countered, beat up, and Floyd's defense was too good for him. Floyd made him look worse than he actually is. Also, Shane sure threw quite a bit of punches in the 9th round and in the second half of the fight in general. Shane deserves a shot at Pacquiao as he's still dangerous but I agree that he's risking his "never been ko'd" title facing Pacquiao. Pacquiao moves a lot and punches a lot and I think he'll beat Mosley on speed & precision punching.

Shane makes it interesting for 4 or 5 rounds IMO.

As long as Manny can take a few bombs from Shane then I agree that Pac TKO is the likely outcome.

One thing you can compare between the Floyd fight and a Pac-Mosley fight is that Mosley gassed in the Floyd fight, and he would obviously gas even worse vs Manny Pac.

What is more physically draining - getting outboxed by a boxer with a low workrate, or getting beaten down by a fighter with a high workrate?

It's not difficult to understand folks.

here is where the problem comes in....if Mosley is to get lazy and tired like he did in the Floyd fight...Pac is going to pummel him and its going to look bad just like the Margo fight...there is nothing to gain from this not even a title.

I saw more frustration than anything. Mosley got beaten physically and mentally in the floyd fight but he got beaten mentally first and that lead to the rest. In a Pac fight, if he sees that he can hit Pac a couple of times that will just instill confidence in Mosley. I repeat Im not saying that Mosley will win but if somebody is dangerous to trade with at these weights is Mosley.

Pacquiao won't fight negative like Mora and doesn't have the defense of Floyd. He WILL get hit but I think his footspeed and speed in general plus different angles will help him prevail. Shane has handspeed especially for a guy his age so trading with him I agree isn't smart.
